First things first, this is not a diner. If you are thinking Mel's, you thought wrong, dude. This is a nice restaurant. It is somewhat upscale in decor and atmosphere and photo-op food. Anytime you get your grilled veggies laid out in a pattern on top of the wedge of mashed potatoes, with the balsamic ketchup smeared in two directions to frame the meatloaf slices, it ain't gonna be on Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives. Now for the split decision part: I thought my meatloaf plate was pretty good and was certainly filling. My bride, however, did not think too much of the fried chicken. The glazed crust was a little bit too spicy for here, in a Tabasco sort of way. I think she may have been a bit price conscious and something further up the menu would have been fine. Our waiter was excellent, bringing me a taste of the Pale Ale to see if I liked it before committing to the whole pint. So, this is certainly a fine place to eat, but they should really lose the diner implication.
