Description: This old fashioned, family owned coffee and ice cream shop is located in Captain Curt's Village a few hundred yards south of the Stickney point (south bridge). It is beside the bike and kayak rental shop. They are super friendly and have a gourmet coffee bar, 24 flavors of hand churned, homemade ice cream. It is my favorite local coffee shop! I've never left disappointed.

After having had dinner at Captain Curt’s Seafood, we decided to have a little ice cream dessert at this place since it’s in the same shopping area as the restaurant. Fantastic ice cream - key lime pie, cookies and cream, and peanut butter were the flavors of choice. I had the key lime pie - so tart yet sweet with bits of graham cracker crust...super tasty after dinner treat! Check this out if you’re in the Siesta Key area!

There are several ice cream parlors in the Sarasota area and my wife and I have visited most of them. All of them come highly recommended. Who doesn't like ice cream? We prefer the Orange Octopus because it is closer to our condominium than any of the others. Located at 1220 Old Stickney Point Road near Captain Curt's, Siesta grocery and the south bridge to Siesta Key, the Orange Octopus is a family owned business that offers 24 flavors of ice cream that is handmade and slow churned on site, smoothies and milk shakes. I love to order a large cup with three scoops of any flavor that I happen to like at that moment. How about butter pecan, raspberry sorbet and toasted coconut? Or cookies and cream, strawberry and butterscotch blast? Or sea salt caramel, chocolate chip cookie dough and key lime? Or Dutch chocolate, creamy mango and vanilla? It's fun to mix and match. But don't pass up a strawberry smoothie. It's a must. As fresh as if you just picked the strawberries in the field. We always take the ice cream and smoothies home with us but lots of families and beachcombers enjoy their treats in the adjoining room. Parking can be a bear because the strip mall is very popular.

Our family enjoyed five very good scoops of ice cream for a great dessert. The ice cream cream is rich, creamy, and cold. We definitely recommend!!!

We stopped in after dinner and a full day at the beach. They make the waffle cones there and it smells amazing. It was a bit busy but the staff was very efficient and friendly. Sample a flavor before making this tough decision! Among the three of us we ordered the salted caramel, chocolate brownie, chocolate peanut butter, toasted coconut, and cookies and cream. We were all satisfied with our choices. So glad we stopped here!

Fun and super cute small ice cream parlor. Lots to choose from and nice indoor seating. Great milkshakes, sundaes, cones, bowls, the whole shebang! Nice place for all ages. Modestly priced and kind, prompt service. Will be back :)
