Best part of the visit to Myakka State Park was this walkway! Old and young enjoy clicming the tower, but remember, only 4 on the bridge at a time! It's fun to walk across and be in the canopy of trees! Would love it to be longer or with an additional bridge! Start park fee is $6 per car load

“Literally awesome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2013

This walk is an inspired idea and it is well worth the climb to the top - 76 ft. The top platform was so peaceful, you couldn't see a building, although the power cables hosted a bald eagle's nest, which made their presence in the view a plus. There was a feeling of great silence which I didn't want to leave. The walkway itself gives a good view into the canopy, and there are some interesting birds to be seen.

“Worth the Trip to the Top”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2013

If you want a different perspective of Myakka State Park, take the climb to the top of the tower. The view is amazing. It isn't the best attraction in the park, but it certainly one to see.

“Just try not to hum the theme to Indiana jones.”

This is a very cool trip and a nice little adventure, the tower is a bit wobbly so if your afraid of heights you may want to skip. Also try and go early before it gets crowded, I've been twice and and I've seen deer, wild hogs, and all kinds of birds and insects but its less enjoyable when there are kids running up and down it. The view from the top of the tower is very nice. When you start off, the trail comes to a "Y" and a left will take you on a easy looping trail that's is very nice with several walkways, a right will take you strait to the canopy walkway. I recommend doing a couple trails while your in the park since its a bit of a drive.

“What a great addition to a great park!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

One of the neatest attractions at Myakka is their Canopy Walkway. To get there, find the Boylston Nature Trail and take the Spur Trail loop. The entire loop only takes about 30-40 minutes to walk, however we chose just to do the Canopywalk Trail, because it was the middle of summer in Florida, which is HOT! The wooden walkway, suspended 25 feet above the ground, extends 100 feet through the hammock canopy. What an awesome feeling to be able to walk among the treetops! There is also a tower connected to the walkway that rises 74 feet in the air to present visitors with spectacular views of treetops, wetlands and soaring birds of prey. This is an incredible way to experience “real’ Florida!
