Climb a wooden tower, walk over a short guy-wired wooden walkway, climb down tower at other end. No particular view, other than over the hammock.

Great views from the tower and walkway - but the tower does sway a bit, especially as you get higher. Not recommended for those with motion sickness or fear of heights. Wonderful nature trail nearby should not be missed.

After all the hype in the brochures of the park, which usually mention the length, I should not have had my expectations up so high. However, it was worth the hike from the road to climb up to the canopy walkway. Very early in the morning, and late in the day are probably the best times to see avian life. In the early afternoon, all the birds seemed to be sleeping. Having a pair of binoculars is really useful to see distant objects.

I was expecting a much longer "walkway" than the 20 or so foot length of this one. You climb up several flights of stairs to reach the walkway and you're basically at treetop height. Not much to see here. If you continue climbing the stairs on the tower at the other end of the "walkway" you'll be high above the trees and you can see for miles in every direction even though the view is the same in every direction.

The walkway, built by volunteers, take you above the trees in this state park, but it's only about 100 feet long. Still, it's lovely, and it's right in the middle of a large wooded area, not far from the lake. A great escape from the crowds.
