“Food as art”

Every part of our dining experience at Indigenous was perfect….the service, the atmosphere, the beverages, and every delightful morsel we put into our mouths. The chef is a genius at combining interesting flavors and textures. It is hard to state my favorite part of the meal, but I will order the wild mushroom bisque every time I go there, and I will dine there every time I visit Sarasota. Worth the expense.

“The best Sarasota has to offer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2014 via mobile

I'll make this short and sweet. Perfect atmosphere, food and service. Prior review of "bad manners" may be that person's unusual experience. We have dined here many times and have never encountered anything remotely like this. Love this place and will return whenever in Sarasota. PS The ice cream alone is worth the trip. :)

“Bad Manners”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2014

I know people make mistakes but -- there is no excuse for bad manners. My friend and I made a reservation and confirmed their corkage fee. When we arrived at the time of our reservation, we were told they had no record of this reservation. They intimated that we fabricated the conversation with the hostess who answered the phone. Though they did say they were sorry, their apology was less than sincere. Though their food may be excellent, unless their service matches it, they are less than a first rate restaurant.

“Twinkling Lights, Inventive Menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2014

Lovely restaurant in the artist enclave of Towles Court. No difficulty getting a reservation now the tourist crush is over.
Perfect little cheese coins as gratis munchie to start. Mushroom bisque was delicious, not too salty as one reviewer stated. Interesting twist to have savoury beignets. These were as puffy as clouds.
Short ribs caramelized and tender. Pompano Beach line caught swordfish perfectly cooked and sauced served over faro..a favourite Italian side dish served too infrequently here.
Shared brioche bread pudding with sage ice cream. A not too sweet ending to a delicious meal.
Our server was knowledgeable and delightful. Bus staff were attentive and unobtrusive. Our water glasses were always full.
My only criticism is that everything could have been a tad hotter.
We sat inside but there is also a lovely patio. Perfect on a warm evening..
Good value for the calibre of the food. The menu is limited but varied. Locally sourced food.

The food we ordered was spectacular. However, the menu was a bit limited for non-adventurous eaters.
