We enjoyed another wonderful meal at Indigenous this evening. Unquestionably our favorite spot in Sarasota. The service is always superb and the food never disappoints. The fresh fish specials are sure to please the most discerning palate. Many delicious desserts choices to complement a fine meal. We will back I'm sure.

Delightful restaurant near the Sarasota historic district. There is a choice of inside or outside dining depending on the weather. Delicious food and attention to detail accompanied by perfect service. Do not miss this little treasure.

First and foremost Steve (Indigenous owner-chef) bent over backwards to accommodate all our last minute requests (i.e. additional guests, birthday celebration)...as the evening coincided with the Sarasota Parade of Boatst, undoubtedly, it made the requests that much more difficult given the crowds + scheduling demands. From the initial start of the evening through our final dessert drinks everything was excellent...starting with the mushroom bisque (supreme, as always), the parmesan beignets (melt-in-your-mouth perfection) as were all of the entrees...the cobia, braised short ribs, state-of-vegetables...just wonderful.

While there was a little confusion over the removal of my dinner plate (I was not finished and was chatting away not paying attention, my fault!)...but unbelievably (and this is exceptional service) the chef packaged up a fresh short rib to go platter! A shout out needs to be extended to Jessica (our wait staff)....again...just wonderful.

Indigenous is one of those rare, special places that honors great food, service and treats their clients as treasured friends. As Always, Tricia

A somewhat mixed review. First, we got excellent service from a very attentive waiter. Tried the wild mushroom bisque and, like everyone else, thought it was excellent. We also had the shaved brussel sprouts, which also had very good reviews but we thought it was just very good, with less flavor than we expected. I ordered the braised short ribs and was very (make that VERY) pleased. Lots of flavor and very tender meat. If I ate there again, I'd definitely order this dish. The wine list was good; I had an excellent glass of cabernet (Porter Sandpiper). Very close to an excellent rating. I was surprised to be charged $6 for a bottle of water, though maybe this is the local cost of good water when the local water has an unpleasant taste.

A great menu in a comfortable setting with excellent service. The food was locally sourced, seasonal and prepared by an obviously talented chef with a great imagination and understanding of flavours. The beef short ribs were delicious and tender. Three in our party had different fish selections. Each pronounced them delicious with the fish perfectly cooked. We will certainly recommend this restaurant to friends and will return again and again!
