I've dined here twice now and loved it both times. The food is fresh, unique, and beyond delicious. Service is excellent, atmosphere wonderful (inside & outside) and overall my favorite restaurant in Sarasota. Will come back here again and again.

“Heavenly!”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Dined at Indigenous with my husband and mother last week. We had the fish specials, one a red snapper and the other a sturgeon dish, both superbly prepared with local ingredients. We also indulged in the famed wild mushroom soup they are known for but next time we will go for one of the salads as well. The soup was divine; but every time I saw another appetizer dish being sent to a table I wanted to try it as well! The staff is adorable and attentive enough without being intrusive. The older Florida home was well re-designed to accommodate the restaurant. Next time we might try dining on the outside porch; it was quite hot the night we reserved a table and thought the A/C would be better. We are spoiled by great food and restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area; this measured up to the best out here!

“Great Experience!”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

We were looking for an intimate spot to celebrate our anniversary and we weren't disappointed! We'd heard about the mushroom bisque so we started with that. We both agreed that it was probably the best thing we've every tasted and we'd go back just for the bisque. We had Cobia for the entree and it was cooked perfectly, very moist and yet not undercooked. The service was excellent and we never felt rushed. This is the perfect place for intimate dates or quiet anniversary or birthday celebrations. If you have young kids, do everyone a favor and take them to Applebees instead. The restaurant is located in a quiet neighborhood setting so parking may be an issue at times but we found a spot on the street right in front. The kitchen closes a 9 pm so if you're late diners like us, keep that in mind. We recommend sitting on the porch, weather permitting. It was well landscaped and very comfortable. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the service and the food. We each had an appetizer, an entree and a glass of wine and dinner ended up being about 100 bucks with tip. We wanted to try the jalepeno ice cream for dessert, but we didn't have room. Be sure to make reservations.
