I had a friend visiting from out of town. This was a wonderful way to get an overview of the city. My only complaint was that we had booked the Dolphin & Manatee tour and only saw a couple dolphins from a distance and no manatees. It was more sight seeing than educational.

Take it from a local. This is a great and affordable way to spend a couple hours on Sarasota Bay while unwinding with a drink and some friends. The boat is clean, bartenders are quick, the bathrooms are good considering your on a boat. The staff is very friendly and took very good care of us while on a little engagement celebration (thanks Rod!) This cruise lets you see another side of Sarasota's beauty. From the perfect beaches and sunset to the waterfront homes to the downtown skyline.

We took the sunset cruise with our friends from NY. It wasn't easy to get a table on the upper deck. Our friend was on crutches and they said they would allow us to board first but didn't follow thru on that. Drinks were cheap and it was a lively cruise with a gorgeous sunset and beautiful houses along the way. Our only complaint was that they allow smoking. We had a table on one side with 5 women chain smokers and a man with a cigar behind us!! For that reason alone I cannot recommend this cruise to anyone. It definitely will not be something we subject our guests to ever again!

This was a fairly entertaining two hour tour of Sarasota Bay. Went by a lot of expensive houses and a few of the islands in the Bay. An interesting tour if you'd like to know more about the Sarasota area and its history. Price was right, $22 per person. And they don't gouge you on drinks; $3 gets you a beer and $4 for wine. Although I didn't try the food onboard, the prices seemed reasonable. Tour operator was friendly and knowledgeable. They take reservations without a deposit and then you come back 30 minutes before the sailing to pay and board. There was already a line up 30 minutes before the sailing so time I'll show up 45-50 minutes before so I can get in line early and get the seats I want. The shaded section on the upper level filled up fast followed by the sunny upper level. Anyone left over was inside the bottom level. I would go again if I was with someone who hasn't gone before.

We took the evening sunset cruise with some friends who we hadn't seen in 20 years. We didn't realize that the 6:00 time was just when they started selling tickets. Wish we'd shown up about 30 minutes earlier. By the time we got on board, many tables had been pushed together for small groups (therefore reducing the number of total people who could utilize the tables). We found a spot on the rail to lean against, but one of our group waited at the front to be able to grab some seats on the bow when they opened. Being a Saturday night, there were several people on board who were definitely in for the "booze" cruise. Conversations were pretty loud, but we were able to have a conversation of our own. Inside, though, the volume was pretty deafening.
A large portion of the trip was a slow, calm cruise around some neighborhoods, affording a look at some of the waterfront homes, which was nice.
Overall, an enjoyable experience, if a little pricey.
