i live a short walk away, but i always bring out-of-towners to owen's fish camp -- totally unique setting. nestled under the canopy of a huge banyan tree, which at first appears to be several trees until you look up. menu offerings are unusual and excellent. only downside is the small wine selection. service always great. avoid weekends if you don't like to wait in line -- this place is very popular, deservedly so. solo diners may go directly to the bar -- a friendly scene.

Everything about this place is fantastic! You can order any item off the menu and its going to be great. All the food is freshly prepared an the portions are a good size. The price is right. The atmosphere is so cool. You feel like you just entered the bayou in Louisianna. If you don't want to wait for a table I recommend making it an early dinner because it will be crowded no matter what day of the week you go. They open at 4pm. You can also enjoy a drink at the bar and enjoy the garden in the back that is well decorated to feel like you are in the bayou with a tire swing that the kids love and also a firepit. It is a little hard to find because its tucked back behind everything. Parking is a little tough but who cares. Your in Florida. Enjoy the weather and take a stroll. I would eat here as much as I can.

The food remains top notch. Not taking reservations or call-aheads could and does mean an interminable wait; in our case one hour! We were warned at the outset but I guess we were too optimistic,,,we should have gone elsewhere. Sitting inside, the noise level is not quite damaging to the ears...there is outside dining but it is not bug-free.
On the pluses-once again, good food & good service.
Incidentally, if you're willing to wait for an hour be advised that there is a line at the bar of people ordering drinks to have while they wait.

Loved the rustic/country atmosphere - very unexpected in the middle of town. We only had a short wait so got a beer at the bar and went out back where there was a fire pit and band playing - really cool. The seafood boil was great but definitely serves more than 2 people as it advertises! Loved the combination of clams/shrimp/crab legs/mussels... And the specialty hot sauce on the table was a great compliment. Parking lot is tiny but we had no problem finding free parking on a neighboring street.
