Owner description: Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary provides a sanctuary "for life" for the exotic animals currently calling the sanctuary home. Our goal is to create habitats that mimic native environments and are complete with a staff that can provide daily behavioral, sensory, and manipulative enrichment which is the basis for a happy healthy animal in captivity. As we grow and open our habitat to more rescues we will provide the same excellent care while educating the public.

They said they had a great show, the show was all these little animals and the tiger was last and it was a few minutes, we were very disappointed in the show.

“Beautiful animals!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2012

I don't usually like to see animals in cages, however, the people at Big Cat Habitat are taking care of sick or unwanted animals, and their cages aren't that bad! The animals, of course, are gorgeous and I loved visiting there. If I had more money I would donate lots to them!

“Interesting twist on big cat shows”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2012

This modest facility rehabilitates "used" predator circus cats, bears, etc. The presentations are truly up close and interesting, however the facility is quite modest.

“Up Close and Personal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2012

We went as a family via a Groupon deal (though) the regular admission is reasonable. You can get VERY close to the animals here, whether they are caged, or running amok. Sometimes, a little too close. When we went, we had our 15 month old grandson along. We went up to a cage on wheels that had a 6 month old tiger cub inside - we literally could have (I say could have), put our hands right inside it, and of course, our grandson was so tempted to do so had we not be fully aware. It was close to two full minutes before some volunteers came and moved the cage. For anyone who goes and is not mindful and respectful that these are wild animals - it is probably not the place for you to visit. They put on a great show under the tent, and there are plenty of animals to pet and feed. The EMU is especially loving and soft.
Go and see the wonderful Ligers (Lion/Tiger hybrid), White Tigers, bears, monkeys, tigers, horses.....it's all there.
