We saw the most beautiful and rarest of birds right next door to the Mote Museum/Aquarium. A beautiful experience

What a delight to stumble over this gem. the woman behind the desk was so knowledgeable and kind. Our daughter, a yoga teacher, saw the sign for "Yoga in the Bird garden" and was interested in bringing the idea back home. the gal was so helpful; even giving her email and phone contacts. the children were fascinated with the work they are doing. The wildlife are so well cared for by these gentle, loving people. It won't take long and it is certainly worth the stop.

Thy're doing a good job here, and they clearly need the moey to keep on top of things. The cages and environments aren't the best but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. It must be very difficult for them. I cannot help but wonder how many birds are out there that haven't been "saved" and how they would cope with an influx. But depressing to think along these lines.

Staff was super friendly and informative. God bless them for caring about these birds after many of them injured and left for dead by uncaring people. Great to have them educating the public (and schools) about caring for wildlife. Highly recommended visit. Both my husband and I really enjoyed the visit.

I am a bird lover and while I was in the Sarsota area I just had to visit SOS. The woman at the entrance was very friendly and she detailed for us how the facility is run and maintained. She had a lovely cockatoo on her shoulder and was obviously a burd enthusiast. She gave us a printed sheet with information about the birds we would see and what their rehab status was. The birds and enclosures were well maintained and clean and there was absolutely no foul animal odor anywhere -- something we found amazing. We were able to talk to some of the other workers and volunteers and they were all very friendly and informative. We left knowing we would want to support this facility in the future by sending a donation to help with the maintenance and care of the birds. This is a very worthwhile cause and the people there make it all the more worthwhile. Kudos to them for what they do!!
