We visited with our 13 and 6 year old daughters - we all loved it. Many different kinds of birds, not just sea birds. Got to see them up close and active. We saw a great blue heron eating a whole fish and my 13-yr-old named that as one of her favorite parts of our entire trip to Sarasota! It was a lot of fun for us to see up-close so many birds that we often just see from a distance, such as the herons, egrets and birds of prey. Highly recommended.

We're here visiting my family, who are members of Save Our Seabirds. We were really excited to see it and were not disappointed. They are doing a great job of taking care of all the beautiful birds. My kids loved seeing all the different types of birds.

I have volunteered here and really enjoy the place. Especially to get photos. It's a good free option for your family although please leave a donation of course so we continue to have a place to send our sick and injured birds.

Small and the birds can be difficult to see, but, certainly worth a visit. Right opposite the Mote Aquarium and only $5 plus whatever you decide to contribute. Some truly exceptional birds here; tough to photograph given the lighting and small wire cages.

actually it is more than ok but it is not a real tourist attraction so nothlng fancy. it is clean and manned by volunteers. they are doing a wonderful job - unsung heroes. bring cleaning supplies or old towels or look on their wish list. luckily they are next to mote marine and get a lot of carryover. It makes you think twice about leaving your fishing line for these poor birds to get tangled in or ingest and die. wonderful work by a handful of dedicated people. I upped the rating not because it was out of this world but it is of this world. they are caring for the problems all of us have caused.
