While this is a smaller aquarium, the exhibits are excellent and informative. The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions. This is a great aquarium for children with tanks for touching sea life. We had checked the website before going and we knew the manatee area was being renovated. We did not get to see all the aquarium or other areas because our time was limited and we wanted to do the ECO boat tour. I highly recommend this tour. The boat ride is about 1 3/4 hours long. Jill our guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable!!! During the ride they cast a net and caught sea life. The catch is identified, counted and passed around for all to see. The sea life is taken to the aquarium or returned to the sea. At "bird island" we saw egrets, ibis, herons, roseate spoonbills. On a short walk on an island, we saw non native invasive trees, learned why there are so many man-made islands in the area, and learned about the damage the lion fish is doing to sea life. Chuck, our volunteer island guide (1:30 tour Jan 19) was excellent. And on the return trip, the dolphins made an appearance. This was the most interesting tour boat ride I have ever taken. There is a cute "diner" restaurant on site.
