Just love spending time together here at the Ringling. The museum of art has many galleries of wonderful interesting collections. The grounds are fabulous and the golf carts to transport you are a plus for many. We like to walk the grounds to see all of the many species of plants and trees. Sitting by the intercostal near the Ca’d’Zan, the opulent mansion is always refreshing with a nice breeze. There’s a nice playground as well as two Great cafes for lunch. The Circus Museum is full of miniature circus scenes which are oh so spectacular but does require an entrance ticket. Don’t miss the glass gallery just to the right of the entrance, it’s free too!

Beautiful gardens and really enjoyed the day here. I recommend this to everyone. There is so much to do in Sarasota that you will run out of time with all you have available to do. Great Family Destination.

It doesn't make a difference if you have eclectic interests the Ringling covers just about everything from horticulture, circus, classical or modern art, theatre and architecture and history.

The Tibbels Learning Center has an extensive display of hand carved circus life that will astound all ages as well as interactive displays.

The Ringling Museum itself is full of amazing art; not only paintings but sculpture, miniatures, collections of coins, timepieces, pottery and ceramics. The traveling exhibits are changed regularly. The courtyard is used for many open air events during the year.

The Ca d'Zan is a beautiful architectural masterpiece that John Ringling had built on the shores of Sarasota Bay. Interiorly it is decorated in opulence. During the Holiday season, it is decorated with beautiful fir trees and globes and lights. The first Thursday in December is open to tour for a mere donation of a toy for "Toys for Tots". Choral groups sing, pianists & organists play while you wander through the mansion.

For those who prefer gardens, Mable's Rose Garden is beautiful and peaceful as well as sitting alongside the bay and watching the sunset.

Inside the visitor information center is the Historic Asolo Theatre. It was brought from Italy by the Ringlings. The beauty & acoustics are worth enjoying. New to the Ringling is an incredible collection of glass art in a brand new building.

Well, I live 5 miles from the museum so needless to say I go there often. If you are talking museum it really isn't one but a compound. There is the fine art museum famous for it's schools of art and it's Reubens paintings. It also has wonderful traveling exhibits. It has a world class circus museum that everyone in the family will have fun at. CaD Zan Ringling mansion (pay the extra bucks to get the upstairs tour). Bring a picnic and have lunch by the bay or in one of the many garden venues. Our families favorite picnic place is in the gnome garden. Great for a kids Birthday party. Mondays are free for the fine art museum. They also have concerts and book clubs and have a little gem of a theatre and a restaurant with good food but aweful service.

The restaurant attached to the museum “the muse” has great food. I was surprised at how great it was. I had the award winning burger with bacon jam and my husband had the fried chicken sandwich.
The museum itself was incredible. We did the mable tour of the home. The John tour was sold out. I would have liked to do both and we will do the John tour next time. The grounds are well kept and there is a “trolley” that comes around at stops and picks you up if you are having trouble walking. I definitely recommend going and visiting.

The Ringling is officially the museum of the State of Florida. It is based on the wonderful collection amassed by John Ringling, the circus impresario, who was one of the richest men in the US in the 1920s. The Ringling is also home to the amazing miniature circus - do not miss it - and the Venetian Palazzo home of John and Mabel Ringling on the shore of Sarasota Bay.

This place is a big complex that includes different activities. Main of them circus museum, art gallery, a home of Ringlings. I will be quite sharp in my review. I saw a lot of art galleries. So this one, I would easily skip. I didn't find there anything that would attract my attention. The house of Ringlings is probably interesting, but I saw a lot of similar. But.... The circus museum is something I've never seen before in my life. Anything I say about it would spoil your experience. I recommend when visiting Circus museum first watch a little video and then start the exhibition. The amount of work invested in the model of circus and the rest is amazing. It would be interesting for all ages. Children, teens, adults, seniors. Don't miss to spend some time in gardens. Beautiful place. Highly recommended.
