Did a short visit to the National Park , Very much enjoyed the Airboat ride, if you plant o go in summer time go EARLY as the Gators and wildlife don’t seem to like the heat and you have more chance to view if early morning when cooler ! Cost was about $12 a head so better value than the smaller outfits in Orlando area, it is NOT fast as holds about 30+ people and about 20 ft long and say 12 ft wide , very stable and give you time to see about you.
The Guide driving the boat was an elderly gentleman who has been doing the trips for about 15 years , also gave a very informative talking tour which was hilarious and great for the children, very insightful but also very entertaining. We did see some Gators quite close and they are LARGE ! also lot of wild birds and plantlife.
Shop & facilities – we used washrooms which were all good , bought a few gifts which were reasonable ( but as expected higher price than say Walmart ), didn’t eat in the place but coffee & ice creams etc all reasonable and decent quality.
Overall a nice place to spend a few hours , we also did the Skywalk , a bit short and disappointing as they had had lot of rainfall so area was flooded , not something you can control ! and our expectation was something a bit longer , good views though of the area.
