Great trails to walk & cycle the roads.
The bridge was a bit less than expected - but still fun. Families w kids would enjoy the bridge & tower.
Best way to bathe in nature’s air - relax & breathe!

This place is so beautiful! Tons of wildlife everywhere you turn from birds, squirrels, alligators, and more! The drive is lovely you go at your own pace to see everything you stop as you please. You’re almost guaranteed to see many alligators! The hanging bridge to the look out tower is awesome! A great way to see the 360 degree views. The kids will love going over the bridge and up the stairs.

Took the hour boat ride which was very informative. Visited the Visitor Center and watched several short clips about Park, it’s history, and wildlife. Very helpful. Walked to Canopy Trail and walked over bridge and then climbed tower. Nice view from there but didn’t really see any animals, etc. walked on Bird Boardwalk. Water is low this year so couldn’t see as much. Alligators staying in water rather than coming ashore. There was enough there to keep as busy for 4 hours.

We knew little about this park but drove quite a distance because we heard about the canopy walkway and were excited to try something different. It’s probably my own fault that I was disappointed. I was expecting something higher and longer. It is about 25 feet above the ground and only 100 feet long. It seemed like we just started when it ended. There is a taller tower at one end that puts you well above the canopy for some good views. What was impressive, however, was everything else that the park offers. There are hiking trails, boat rides, camping, lots of gators and beautiful birds. We loved seeing the striking Sandhill Cranes, but the highlight was seeing a Roseate Spoonbill! Gorgeous!! What a treat! We sat for a while on the upper deck of the restaurant enjoying the lake and scenery. We missed the Visitor Center and movie, so I guess we will have to return some day. There was a fee to park. Very enjoyable day.

We have been to this park many times. It is good for hiking and biking, but also bird watching. He can always see alligators. The boat ride on the lake is very informative as is the little tram ride.

I needed a beach break so decided to check out the Myakka River State Park. Began by buying my ticket for the boat tour, since the gate told me they sell out quickly. Snagged a seat on a tour that left 2 hours later, so time to explore. Started with a pretty and short loop called the Nature Trail, followed by a climb up the canopy walkway and 74 foot tower, which takes you high above the forest canopy. Because I was looking for some exercise, I walked the North Drive which runs next to the lake and is scenic. There are several trails in the park, but my time didn’t allow for anything very long. The boat ride was nice, quiet and informative. The captain pointed out several types of birds on the shore and alligators that were in the water everywhere. There are 4,000 alligators in the park, to be exact. Starting in December the boats will be glass bottomed, so that will be cool. It was a nice Florida-filled day.

If you've ever wanted to get up close and personal with very large alligators, this is the place!!! We saw too many to count, plus the bird life was phenomenal. Judging by the crowd, this experience isn't for everyone.

A huge State Park with lots of activities to do. The best being Conopy Walk and a Boat Ride in Myakka Lake for Alligator sighting and also some exotic birds. For taking full advantage best is to have a stay at the park. A great outing in the Wilderness

I’ve been here many times over the years and it is truly a special place. It’s so beautifully preserved and peaceful. There is plenty of road to bike on and great trails for walks. The tower and rope bridge are a must. You can see over the tree tops and it is awesome!! I haven’t camped there but always wanted to. They have cabins you can rent and are very reasonably priced. Reserve well in advance though as I’ve heard they stay pretty booked. This is a great stop that’s off the beaten tourist path.
