Description: Café Thirty-A is a casual fine-dining restaurant featuring grilled and fire roasted seafood, meats and poultry, wood-oven pizza, vegetarian fare and hedonistic, "architectural" desserts. The menu changes daily according to availability of ingredients. Fine wines and cocktails--including a creative menu of the best martinis in the area--complement the meal. The ambiance is open, casual, "islandy," yet sophisticated, with vaulted ceilings, upside-down market umbrellas, hand painted chairs, intimate lighting and half-wall dividers creating the atmosphere. Patrons often state, "It just makes you feel good to walk in here!" It's a fun, happening place to dine - with impeccable, yet unpretentious, service. Recent and ongoing awards are: Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, Florida Trend Golden Spoon Award, North American Restaurant Association Five-Star Award of Excellence, NW Florida Daily News “Restaurant of the Year.” Private dining for 25-80 is available upstairs in the Fishbone

“My Favorite on 30-A”
Reviewed June 1, 2012 via mobile

My personal favorite restaurant on 30-A. Some of the waitstaff could act a bit more humble, but this is the exception, not the rule. The food is some of the finest, with commensurate pricing. A "can't miss" place, for sure!

“Food delicious, service great”
Reviewed June 1, 2012

Beautiful restaurant, with experienced and ample staff. Reservations are recommended (We took the 8:15 reservation, arrived to the bar around 7:30, had a martini, and were actually seated at our table early.) Tuesday and Thursday are $5 martini nights. Every evening between 5 and 6 they have a BOGO offer (excludes lobster and fillet options), which is a great deal. They will even take a reservation during this time frame, so plan ahead to get a great deal.

The food is fantastic. For a starter we shared the Prince Edward Island Mussels, cooked in a coconut curry sauce with julienned vegetables. They were the best mussels I have ever eaten. My husband ordered the scallops (like butter!), paired well on a bed of wild rice. I had the lobster tails, served over a bed of three cheese macaroni mixed with crawfish and truffles, and some steamed asparagus. I only wish we had saved room for dessert!

This is fine dining and the prices reflect that. Expect to pay $10-15 for starters, and $30-40 for entrees. Every delicious bite proved it was well worth the cost! They offer wine by the glass, half bottle, and also have an incredibly extensive list of full bottle options.

The atmosphere is nice and setting well decorated. The restaurant does seat many people and so it is a bit noisy with that many simultaneous conversations, but it isn't distracting.

If you love fine food you will love this place!

“Been around for many years and still great.”
Reviewed May 31, 2012

We have been eating at Cafe Thirty A for over since they opened which is about 17 years ago give or take a little. We have never been disappointed. I think one really good thing is they keep changing the menu a little bit at a time. Yes, somethings do stay and have been on themenu sinceday one....the grilled quail overy creamy grits which is out of this world and the margherita pizza(when margherita pizza was not cool). A couple of nights ago we enjoyed the grilled grouper over creamy mashed potatoes and an excellent all jumbo lump crab cake with a simple mustard sause. I would rate this restaurant as the "Best on 30A" in all categories. They hardly ever raise their prices and there is always something on the menu that one could afford. Go for martini night (Tuesday and Thrusday) $5 martinis all night long. The Chef, the Manager and the Bartenders are all excellent.
