My wife and I are full time residents here on Sanibel. We have eaten at Melissa's several times and the food is always the same, Great. Since it is usually just the two of us we like to eat in the bar area the service is fantastic the food is as well. One of the Must Visits when you find yourself on Sanibel.

We hadn't been here before so thought we'd give it a try. We have found other places on Saibel have a welcoming atmosphere but we found that it certainly isn't a "cafe". We enjoy good food but although both the tuna and duck were cooked well there was little taste in the vegetables, rice (black?) etc. Neither meal seem to be put together well and the price.....

Once again we visited Sweet Melissa's, and it was just fabulous. The fish stew is out of this world good! The sauce is just amazing. If you are visiting Sanibel, this place is a must.

Went to Sweet Melissa's last night on a whim after securing a table on the Open Table app. We have been to the restaurant before but weren't big fans, maybe because we couldn't quite grasp the small plate/large plate concept. We had the best meal we have had in a very long time! My husband had the heart of palm salad small and the large scallops and loved every bite. I had the small plate pork belly/littleneck clam which was absolutely wonderful and near meal size. By the time my Cobia large plate came I couldn't even finish it. I don't know whether the portions have changed due to off season or what but we were almost overwhelmed with the food sizes! And everything was excellent on top of it. We will come back soon for sure!
