We had a very nice waiter, and a perfect dinner at Sweet Melissa's. We had appetizers and entrees, the desserts looked great but we were too full. Make reservations ahead as this restaurant fills up.

Let me add to the chorus of praise. This is perhaps my first 5-star review. Roomy and comfortable seating, white tablecloths, quiet guitar background music, attentive but unobstrusive service, extensive selection of wines by the glass, and wonderful food, all without outlandish pricesl. Make a reservation and go here !

And you can get smaller portions of the delicious entres (we had mahi and smoked tenderloin over "sinful" rice), leaving room for tasty appentizers (we had goat cheese crepes and BBQ shrimp) and a chocolate torte for dessert.

Can't wait to get back to Sanibel and eat here again !

The place is lovely and the food was very good. I had the fish special (pompano) after getting ordering advice from the waiter. He also helped with wine selection and was attentive without overwhelming us. We were in a small room with 3 tables and the guests dining at the adjacent tables started a conversation with us. Once the other tables heard we were novices regarding Sanibel, we got a ton of advice on how best to spend our time.

We have tried this restaurant before and enjoyed it so decided to come back. The first time we were her we thought it was very good, but this time it was exceptional. We sat at the bar because it was so busy and we were glad we did. Kevin was our bartender and waiter, what service. I started out with mussels steamed in white wine broth, OMG. The best I have ever had. My husband had the clams with pork belly, he loved them. Then after another glass of Merlot, On to dinner. I had the small plate of beef tenderloin, again amazing, with truffle whipped potatoes and sautéed spinach. This place has only gotten better, much better. It's coming close to beating Traders, my favorite dinning spot on Sanibel. You must go to Sweet Melissa's and see for yourself. Wow, just WOW.

Great food, good service. The chef/owner is in the kitchen preparing every meal. Went here on our last night and wish we had gone sooner.
