“Excellent food, wines and service”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

Excellent food. Small plates are quite filling with a eclectic choice and very
good wines to choose from. Have eaten their many times and for a special
occasion on the island, this is the place. Make sure to reserve a date at least
4 days ahead. Very busy and in demand during the high season.

Small plate of mussels was wonderful and filing!

A good place for foodies!!!

“So good we went back the next night!”
Reviewed February 23, 2013 via mobile

We arrived at Sweet Melissa's just after 5 to secure places at the bar. Being amateurs in Sanibel this time of year, we did not know island restaurants book up weeks in advance. The hostess suggested we arrive early to get places and it was good advice.

Melissa's menu is broad and appeals to all tastes. It was hard to choose and none of us were. All entrees are available as "petite" plates which allows for portion control and a reasonable check.
Try the grilled romain salad and the key lime custard dessert. It's all delicious!

The staff is friendly and attentive. Melissa herself works the kitchen and has real charm. We had such a nice time we did the same thing the next night and were just as pleased.

Go! You'll love it.

“What a pleasant surprise!”
Reviewed February 22, 2013 via mobile

I had not eaten at Sweet Melissa's until Valentine's Day and it was superb! Everything was delicious from my salad to ice cream and coffee. The menu items burst with unique ingredients and flavor. What's great is that one can order a small portion of an entree so a starter and dessert are more enjoyable. I will definitely go back and will recommend it to others. What a great dining experience!

“Sweet Dinner at Sweet Melissa's”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

There are many good restaurant's on Sanibel Island but Sweet Melissa's stands at the top of our list. We started out with the Beet Salad...delicious and fresh and also had the Palm Heart Salad which was just as good if not better! Our main dishes were Fish Stew and Short Rib (Petite Size). Both were outstanding...the short rib melted in your mouth and the fish stew was delicious...the broth excellent! We ended with chocolate ice cream...made at Sweet Melissa's and it was a great way to end the meal even though we were stuffed to the brim! Our server Kelsey was attentive and helpful and make our meal a night to remember. Thank you! The only downfall is that we have to wait a whole year before we can return!

“Very good”
Reviewed February 21, 2013 via mobile

There were no reservations available after 6:30 so we sat at a nice table in the bar. Our server (Marli) was attentive, informative and funny. Both my husband and I found our entrees wonderful. I had the small plate cobia and my husband had the small filet. We shared a fabulous mixed green salad. We will definitely dine here again.
