“Excellent Vacation spot”
Reviewed July 17, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We had an excellent vacation, unit was clean, and our host Julie responded to every text or email quickly. There was so much to do, from kayaking to fishing to our favorite shelling. We went to several restaurants and they all were excellent. Very nice place to visit and would come back again. Thank you so much for everything, we enjoyed.

“Very lovely condo”

The condo was lovely, clean and well maintained! Very nice bathrooms, light and airy. We made the mistake of not confirming there was a balcony or screened porch, which there is not. Several of the condo buildings do have them, not this one. Our fault for not doing our homework! The beach was beautiful, as always. The pool was put to good use, lots of little ones enjoying their stay. Seems the pool steps are perfect for moms and kiddos!

We had a wonderful weeklong stay at this beautiful condo! Everything we needed was there from the kitchen, bath and bedrooms to items to use at the beach and for shelling. We also rented bicycles and had fun exploring the island. We would definitely love to come back for another stay!

“Quiet and clean home base near the beach!”

This is a clean, light-filled, well-situated, well-appointed condo which was perfect for our needs. I chose this one for our family (2 adults, 2 kids 9 + 13) because of the proximity to the beach. As other reviewers have noted, it really is a lovely walk down a path and over a bridge to the beach (5 minutes). We saw gators (far away!), many birds, and other wildlife every day. For younger kids, the walk itself is an adventure before getting to the beach. For my kids, I had no qualms about letting them go back and forth to and from the beach by themselves. The shell wash station with sink, shower and hose is handy for washing shells and sandy feet. The complex is very leafy and green and though it appeared busy, it was quiet.

We did rent bikes for the week but biking to other activities such as the shell museum or the nature refuge was a bit too far for my nine year old. Older kids and adults should be fine. Do not miss Ding Darling. We did two trips there with Tarpon Bay Explorers: the kayak trail (easily done by novice paddlers, and a great way to see the mangroves ) and a fishing trip (we caught a bunch of fish--most were not keepers but we did end up with a few trout for dinner. The dolphins kept us company for quite a while too). We don't eat out much on vacation but had good meals at the Lazy Flamingo (best grouper sandwich) and Doc Ford's. If you prefer to be in walking distance of restaurants and shopping you may want to consider a different location, but as that was not a priority for us, this was perfect.

The wifi and netflix were welcome at the end of the day (and the games and puzzles too!). The dryer seemed to do better with smaller loads. The beach equipment was handy and we used the chairs quite a bit. The kitchen had everything we needed, and stocking up on food was easy. There are a few grocery stores on Sanibel (and for the diehards, Costco is not too far :). We ended up eating early dinners so we could walk down to the beach and watch the sunsets. DO THIS. The kids played in the water while we sat in chairs and watched the sun and forgot about everything else. Wonderful memories.

“Fabulous”

This Sanibel retreat was just what I needed to completely decompress from traveling at the speed of life. The condo was beautifully appointed and sparkling clean. The complex was quiet, and the other guests were friendly without being intrusive. All the needed equipment for beach going was available in the condo. Shelling was a major attraction, and I added to my collection. The farmer's market on Sunday provided me with all I needed to prepare my own meals, but there are plenty of great places to eat if no one wants to use the very well appointed kitchen. I also recommend a visit to the Shell Museum and Wildlife Refuge, and if you have a bike, bring it for the miles of trails that are waiting for you to explore. There are canoes available to use, and a pool on the property. All in all, a delightful place to rest, relax, recreate!

“FANTASTIC! Quiet, Comfortable, Homey with Everything you Need!”

From the moment of booking the owner was very attentive. She sent us helpful information about where to eat, attractions and what to expect. The second floor condo was a little further away from the main attractions of shopping and dining which meant driving to those locations. We rented two bikes for the week from Finnimore's and that was fun to do for my aged 20s kid and friend and only about $65. If you want to be able to walk to restaurants and shopping, this isn't the place to rent. If you like clean, quiet and a private beach with tons of shells; this is the place!

The condo was outfitted with everything you need for a beach vacation. Beach towels, beach hats, pool noodles, boogie boards, beach umbrellas, beach chairs, beach toys, shelling nets, cooler, and a beach cart to lug it all. The beach chairs had coolers built in so we used that to store our water and beers! There were even tennis rackets and balls if you wanted to sweat it out on the courts! The pool was just a short 3 minute walk away. Very clean and not crowded.

The condo was super clean and we had no issues with anything in the unit at all. WIFI was spot on all the time. We even were able to watch the Game of Thrones finale while we were there! We utilized the Netflix account too to watch Orange is the New Black! So nice to have the comforts of home. The kitchen is stocked with tons of dishes and pots and pans. We cooked breakfasts and lunches and ate out only dinners mainly. The unit has a washer and dryer. The dryer didn't dry on the first round, but was okay once it warmed up. One thing I wish we bought at the grocery store was more dishwasher soap. The unit only gives you two single packets. We did some dishes by hand. One of my favorite things in the condo was the Shell info sheet. I must have collected 10 pounds of shells and that sheet helped to identify them! The condo was so pretty and really nicely decorated. There were board games, (scrabble was missing lots of pieces), cards, movies, music and books, too.

We saw an alligator and manatees in the lagoon under the bridge walkway to the beach. The walk to the beach was 5 or so minutes and enjoyable as we stopped to look over the lagoon to see the alligator or manatee.

We visited Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, the Shell Museum, Sanibel Historic Village, the Lighthouse and ate at Doc Fords, the Mucky Duck on Captiva, The Island Cow and The Pecking Order Fried Chicken. Loved that fried chicken!

Stay here! We loved it! Wish we could own it!

“A Taste of Paradise”

I thought I wanted a place right on the beach, until I saw this place. The path to the private beach is almost as pretty as the beach itself. From the condo, it is just 500 feet or so to the back gate. Once at the gate, there are canoes and kayaks (free to use) and a launch into the bayou. There is also a beautiful bridge over the bayou where we watched manatees and saw many birds, including osprey. Once over the bridge, there is a lush pathway to the beach that is stunning. The beach is also beautiful, although the sand is not as soft as I like because there are so many shells.

The condo is bright, large, and beautifully decorated. There were beach toys, beach towels, umbrellas and a cart there for us to use. There is also a washer and dryer, which was helpful with all the wet towels and bathing suits.

We had a great time and will definitely come back again.
