“Great beach getaway!”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

These villas are fully stocked and nice accommodations for couples and/or families. Washer and dryer in each unit, and full kitchen. Steps from the beach. Includes beach chairs and the use of wagons, and beach equipment, as well as bikes. Some units are personal hammocks. Communal area with outdoor seating, grill, hammock, hot tub, and relaxing atmosphere facing a canal. Perfect laid-back vacation and accommodates pets. We did not use closest swimming pool nor a fitness center, both of which would have cost some $35/day, I believe.

Room Tip: We were in the Lighthouse Villa, on the canal.

We have just returned from Beach Road Villa's and stayed in the Sea Oats villa which overlooks the canal, we had our breakfast sat on the porch watching the jumping fish & Martha (the manitee) with her calf swimming right outside. This is our 2nd visit to these spacious well equipped villas, we use the hot tub, the garage full of bikes, beach toys & chairs, you can even pick your own banana's straight from the tree - all this for free! You even get a trolley to take the beach chairs, body boards etc the short walk onto the shell filled beach (beach shoes recommended).

OC Otters is a great place to eat it's friendly and resaonably priced or you can easily cook your meals in the newly fitted kitchen in the villa. Some of the furniture is a little old fashioned but this fits in with the feel of the island. The villas have always been clean, the beds are huge & comfy & the internet access is a bonus.
We booked this break last minute so could only stay for 3 days but would have liked to stay longer, the owner Dave replies quickly to emails & Fred is helpful when you get there.

It is a little piece of paradise on a quant and quirky island just like taking a step back in time. If you go in the summer dont forget to take strong instect repellent as the no-see-ums and mosiquitos DO bite!!!

The apartment was well equipped and very clean on arrival. Very good location for the beach and garage full of beach essentials with little trolly to transport. Apartments are dated in decor and could be updated as they are a bit old fashioned and tired. That can be fixed with a lick of paint and new furnishings however, the best part of our holiday was watching the baby Ospreys being taut by mum how to fish.... Fabulous bird watching on a daily basis from balcony. We were also lucky to spot the Manatees every day do our stay.

This is our third trip to the villas. We love the cozy, relaxed feeling of a smaller complex. We have NEVER had noise issues at the Villas, which is exactly what you want for a relaxed vacation. The Villas are very close to the beach, the lighthouse, and the causeway. There are bikes and beach chairs, as well as umbrellas, which is always nice. The couple who oversee the cleaning and grounds are wonderful people, as well as the owner. The units have been updated and we were very pleased with everything! With us being so close to the beach there, not being on the beach is no issue---the canal provides a lot of interest. We were able to enjoy manatee watching right in the backyard (canal.). There were Osprey nesting in a tree on the other side of the canal, which was very interesting. The grounds are beautiful with very colorful flowers and different types of trees. No one was fishing this visit, but there is usually a guest or two fishing from the dock. Overall, this is a great place for families, couples, or anyone looking for a WONDERFUL vacation!

We just arrived home after 10 days at BRV. We couldn't have been happier with the location. We are used to the prices of a condo in Maui so we thought the rate was more than reasonable. The condo was clean and had everything we needed for a great stay. We cooked all our meals except two and the kitchen and grills were perfect. The outdoor dining area is party lit and we we felt like we were in our own restaurant each evening with the canal for a view. The wildlife is incredible. We saw manatees, alligators and many types of birds. My son fished every day and caught variety of fish in the canal and at Ding Darling refuge. The beach is gorgeous and a short walk away. We did not miss a pool and swam in the gulf every day. The last night we spent at Mucky Ducks watching the sunset which was a perfect end to a fabulous vacation.

If you can't be gulf front, this is the next best thing. This was our first year staying on a canal. It was great. We have spent spring break in Sanibel for 5 years. We stayed in the Driftwood villa. The villa was exactly as described and pictured. When we opened the door it was a breath of fresh clean air. Our family of four plus our corgi had a wonderful time at the villa. The kitchen was well stocked and even a nice care package left in the fridge which was greatly enjoyed by our kids. We made use of the charcoal and/or gas grills every day. We even had friends come by in the evenings for dinner on the grill. The included bikes and chairs were a great touch. I think the kids put about 100 miles a day on the bikes.

The grounds are beautiful. The pictures really don't do them justice. We only saw yard crews once and I dont know how they keep the lawns so beatuful with only one day treatments. The master bed slept wonderful. Not sure about the twins but neither kid complained so that's always a good sign.

The only potentially downside was the dryer - it took multiple cycles to get things dry but hey, I didn't really wash that much.

We would definitely stay at the Villas again. Would be even more fun if the other 3 units were filled with our friends/family to give it a more home feel.

This property was a wonderful find!!!

The beach road villa was a great place to stay. Our unit was lean and well equipped. The villa was a short walk to the beach and had a canal steps from the back lanai. I enjoyed using the bikes provided at the villa and my husband fished in the canal most of our stay. The owner and management staff were very accommodating . The grounds of the villa were beautiful and the hot tub on the premises was clean and hot. It was so nice to use in the evening after shelling all day. We hope to return next year.

Room Tip: No pool or fitness center. Not that kind of property. This property was very quiet and a peaceful re...
