Great Calusa Blueway
Reviewed May 23, 2013

One of the most wonderful experiences that Southwest Florida has to offer is its unique flora and fauna, birds, dolphin, manatee and more. There is no better way to eco-experience the water, and Lee County Parks & Rec has done a tremendous job of creating and maintaining these canoe and kayak routes, which can be tricky in the powerboat-dominant waterways.

Great info is available on their Calusa Blueway app - pinpointing exactly where you are on the trail, so getting lost is only by choice.

Serene and quite, this boat ramp looks out onto the Caloosahatchee River and the famous old Alva draw bridge. Take a sack lunch and a book and kick back!

The view is to say the least spectacular. Add to that a few dolphins a lot of pelicans plus many other birds and it is worth the $6 to get over there
