Stopped in for dinner. We ate at the other lazy flamingo with no problems earlier in the week. We tried to go to mucky duck in captiva but got frustrated with parking so we left. The food was fine. No complaints. We short staffed for sure but the lady working amazingly kicked butt to make mostly up for it.

Nice little restaurant. Clam chowder is fantastic. Comes in a large Clam-shaped bowl. Family always likes to eat at least once here during our vacation. I agree. Haven't had a bad meal or service yet.

Walking distance from Blind Pass Beach and Turner Beach, reasonably priced, and casual dress is no problem. You are eating in a bar. We found the dark wood and nautical theme a cool escape after the end of a long day at the beach. Beer prices were great for the island, especially at happy hour, and they had a small but reasonable selection of craft beers. The fry oil was noticeably fresh. Fried grouper was delicious, but we wanted one more piece each. The french fries were tasty and the coleslaw was outstanding. One note, avoid the conch fritters--they were gummy in the middle (but my bad, I did not complain). The staff clearly had their fill of first-timers, but were humorous, patient, and professional about it.

The good, this restaurant is lower budget. The bad- just too dark and dreary for a dinner out in lovely Captiva. Hamburger was $9.99 and it seemed like a pre-packaged 8oz. patty. My husband liked the shrimp but not enough for us to revisit this restaurant. This Lazy Flamingo had more of a bar feel than a restaurant feel which is just not to our taste.

Loved that they were located in walking distance from where we were staying. We went right after sunset and sure paid for it. There is one cook and everything else is done by the hard working guy behind the bar. My suggestion is if your not in a hurry and want to have time with the family and drink some beers go at sunset time cause you will wait. My nephew love the clam pots. I loved the mesquite ribs. We
Went back a few days later but at 9:00 pm. We loved playing the ring game to pass the time. Helped clear the tables but dependent on the time of year there may not be a wait.
