We are on vacation in Sanibel for two weeks and we've made it a point to try a new restaurant everyday. Timbers was a fantastic dining experience, not only was the food excellent but the atmosphere is very much of what you would except to find on an island in the tropics. For our appetizer we had the Gulf shrimp cocktail and the braised crab cake, which were both very good. I had the fresh Red Snapper grilled with the Mango Sauce. It was delicious, the fish was definitely fresh and the sauce was flavorful. However, I enjoy the taste of the fish and I would advise getting the mango sauce on the side because it does slightly mask the taste of the fish. My wife had the Parmesan encrusted Sea Bass. That was phenomenal, perfect seasoning & large portion. For dessert, we had the chocolate bread pudding and key lime pie. Both, were very delicious. . . the bread pudding hit the spot, especially for chocolate fiends like myself. The key lime pie had a perfect balance between sweet and tart. Lastly, our waitress Coquina was great. Not only did she have a great attitude but was very friendly and had good advice on the menu items. I would definitely visit this place again before we leave and whenever we return. I highly recommend Timbers as a must visit if your staying on Sanibel!
