Family enjoyed our grouper meals at the Lighthouse Cafe! We were seated right away which was nice. Food was good.

“Lighthouse Cafe....light on experience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013

Soooooooo wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, my family and I couldn't really like this place. Before heading out for breakfast we called ahead, as was suggested by previous reviewers. We still had to wait an additional 30 minutes before getting seated. The restaurant is very small, but very quaint with pictures of lighthouses covering the walls. The waitress was just okay, and only once came by to fill our coffee. The food was average. The worst item we ordered was a side dish of sausage patties which were dry, tasteless and resembled hard hockey pucks. The best part of the meal was the small cup of homemade strawberry jam which accompanied the toast. Nice location, as it is within walking distance to Sanibel lighthouse. Hostess and waitstaff leave room for much improvement. Heading to OverEasy Café tomorrow..and hoping for better experience...will let ya know.

We would suggest going! Great food! Wish we had had breakfast there..they are known for them!
Good service, pleasant waitress and atmosphere. Right next to good shops and home made ice cream!

“Ups and downs...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

Had really good pancakes here - best we had on Sanibel.

The mixed review was from 2 other issues...
1) I ordered the blueberry pancakes which came with a delicous blueberry compote on the side. On the last bite of the compote, I noticed there was a wrapper from someone's butter sitting at the bottom of the container. Really made me question the cleanliness of what I just ate. I pointed this out to the server who was very apologetic and offered to get me a new plate of food but after the wrapper in my food, I wasn't really interested.

2) A much smaller issue but we were also charged twice for the pancakes which was corrected immediately.

Maybe this was an isolated incident, but it was enough to make us not go back again.

“Laid back but first class!”

Took 7 family members there for dinner and had really good fresh fish in an island-style setting. Service was friendly and desserts were great. Very relaxing and the price is right.
