Convenient for watching and a picnic. Pristine and well worth the stop.
There is a turn around so that you can use the causeway facilities and not have to pay and extra toll.

“Not allot of sand but free parking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2013

We go almost every week, not your typical beach with soft sand and plenty of small rocks in the water. Nice bathrooms and some grills for cooking. Fishing is fair and easy launching of small watercraft.(trailers not allowed) Best part only free area to park either bay or gulf side.

“Free Use”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2013

The causeway parks and beaches are really nice. You can sun, swim, picnic, kite surf, or fish without paying $2/hour like all the other beaches on Sanibel Island. We found it to be a great and beautiful place.

“Fantastic Views, great parking.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2013

There is a $6 charge to use the Causeway to cross to Sanibel Island. I'm unsure if this is applied to residents, if so, it could be costly to live on Sanibel, but money over there doesn't seem an issue!!!?
The Causeway is lined with parking areas and view points right on the shoreline, giving it a wonderful beachy feel. The views are superb and the breezes on a hot day well worth the stop. Easy to enter and exit the parking before reaching Sanibel itself.

“A beautiful drive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2013

The Causeway is the main way to approach Sanibel from the mainland (unless you are in a boat) and it is extremely scenic, with great views in every direction.

The sandy little causeway islands are also very attractive, and frequented by fishermen, picnickers, and shellers. And, as is the case almost anywhere on Sanibel, you can often see a great selection of different water birds here.

Sanibel is justifiably popular with birders, fishermen, and shellers, all of whom might like to make a stop at one of the Causeway islands.
