“Great place to watch the sunset”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

We went here to watch the sunset. The beach at our condo in Sanibel was NOT a good spot to watch the sunset so we drove to Blind Pass and took some great photos. It was very windy--bring something warm to wear if you go out there.

“Great shelling and fishing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

We were here several times during the week to shell and fish. The shelling at low tide is the best you will find anywhere on the island. The fish is very diversified, if you like to tide fish go to the gulf side of the bridge, if more gentle water is your liking fish on the bay side. We caught Snook ( release only till Sept 1, 2013) Flounder and Sheephead, lots of action. This area is limited parking so arrive early. Sanibel side has no facilities Captiva side does.

“Beautiful Sunset Views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2012

We also were here from the end of October though early November. The views remain spectacular. The shelling is very good. The beach is in great shape and comfortable. There was something in the air that caused severe coughing (?pollen, red tide). Parking now requires payment ($2-3). There is a restroom there. Was not crowded at all.

“Red tide sanibel island beach”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

Paradise lost, Have been coming to this Island for the past 20 years and the last two trips have been marred by Red tide. One vacation destroyed by beach closure- high bacteria and red tide. And now on this trip 2 weeks 10/27/2012 to 11/10 Red tide again . Dead fish every where on the beach and in Ding Darling preserve. Also thousands of sick and dying small florida conch's coming out of the water. Spent a lot of money for travel and Condo rent and fishing tackle. Never again!!! . beware of traveling to Florida it seams that red tide can show up any where I have run into it twice on the west coast and once on the east coast.

Also took a ride to Blind pass to fish. As soon as we got out of the car the 4 of us started coughing and had to leave. What a tragedy!

“Shelling & Sunset pics”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

Although I was there when Hurricane Sandy was nearby, so the waves & wind were QUITE extensive, the beach was beautiful & was an AWESOME location for great sunset pics. Of course, I shelled, but I'd stop to shoot a pic or 2 of the gorgeous sunset, in between. The shelling at that time wasn't great, but still pretty good! LOTS of pretty scenery.
