Go here every year. It is a time when we can just relax. The wooden walkway to the beach makes for easy access to a fairly quiet piece of beach in front of the resort. Beach views are available from every unit. The pool is usually busy with a higher noise level, though that depends on the number of children present. There are BBQ grills, shuffle board, a tennis court, sauna, whirlpool and bicycles all for your use. There are two grocery stores on the island for food and a very adequate and well supplied kitchen for cooking your own meals should you choose. We find the island restaurants expensive and mediocre, so prefer the kitchen and grill for simple quick food. There are bike trails in front of the resort and it is a short ride (or even a short walk) to the lighthouse at the end of the island and the fishing pier. For a past time that you can't find many place there are literally tons of shells to sift through along all of the Sanibel beaches.
I marked service as "excellent" but this is not a hotel, these are individual house keeping units. The office staff is always cheerful and helpful with any questions, and that is the extent of the service. A more appropriate box here would have been N/A.More
