I first stayed here several years ago and had a great time, so when a family event had us coming back to the Fort Myers area I instantly decided to see if Tarpon Tale Inn was available for our stay. We also lucked out that this was off-season and the rates were very reasonable. We decided to stay in a different room than last time, but were just as pleased. This trip we were in the Historic Lighthouse #2 which is a studio. It was perfect! I can't say enough about this Inn and the charm and hospitality. Yes, it is an older property, but I don't think anyone could take better care of this place than the owners do. Everything is spotlessly clean and so comfortable. We didn't want to leave. Plus being just a block from the beach and having the Lighthouse Cafe just across the street is fantastic! We especially love having free use of the bicycles. I can't wait to go back, and hopefully sooner than later.

This was by far the best place we have ever stayed. You really felt like family! The atmosphere was perfect and calming for body, soul and mind. It was a tropical paradise. Every cottage has it's own charming atmosphere and we were fortunate enough to stay in two of them. If you feel all the pressure of today's crazy world, and you really need to relax and get things in perspective then this is definately to get in touch with the things that are really important. The island is a wonderful place to be, but Tarpon Tale is by far the best place to stay. I would go back tomorrow, and we will definately return.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a kitchen, be sure that your room has one. All rooms have frigs and microwav...

Did not know what to expect when we got there. What we found was better than both my wife and I expected. Our room was perfect. Clean, cozy, and plenty of room for the two of us. Our stay was 2 days long in the Island Sunset/Honeymoon Suite. Although the weather was overcast and got some light rain it did not stop us from enjoying the beaches. I personally loved the use of the bikes, to get around. Best part of the whole trip. Collected lots and lots a great looking sea shells

Wish we had more time. Plan on going back soon, we hope

Room Tip: Recommend Island Sunset/Honeymoon Suite

I just stayed at Tarpon Tale Inn for the first time 2 weeks ago, it was wonderful! It was a last minute stay and the owners Joe and Dawn could not be more helpful and kind. The room was large and comfortable, with everything that you might need for your stay. The inn had that old time Sanibel feel and all in a good way. French doors on the bedroom overlooked a small wrought iron table and chairs that was lit up in the evening by Christmas lights. Sitting in the living room you looked out on the native plants. The main office always had fresh lemonade and cookies waiting for you when you entered. It was truly a fairy tale vacation.
Thank you
Janet and John

We just returned from a week at the Tarpon Tale Inn, we loved it. The cottage was spacious and clean (we stayed in the Tropical Bird cottage) and had all the amenities we could wish for. The bed was VERY comfortable. We loved the fact that bikes were provided free of charge, and also the beach equipment. The red wagons were very useful! My husband loved the hammock ;) It's close to the beach, just a short walk down Buttonwood Lane to the right. Turn left on Buttonwood Lane and you're a short walk from the Bay. We really liked this end of the island, it is very quiet and peaceful. We loved seeing the ospreys. There was one on his perch every day when we went to the beach! Definitely recommend getting up early to see the sunrise, it was spectacular. We were both very sorry to leave, but plan on another visit as soon as we can !

Clean and comfortable. We were really happy with everything there. All we did was go to Baileys for groceries and we were all set for the week. Gas grills were also provided. Very, very close to the beach. Wagons were provided along with chairs to take with you.
Laundry on site.
