Stayed for five nights while attending wedding of friends. Our stay began on the tail end of tropical storm Andrea so we wondered if we would see the sun & enjoy the beach. Well, one thing about weather in FL stick around & it will change. We have had four beautiful days at the beach. We have enjoyed the great pool at the resort (heated). Smoothies by the pool. Short walk to the beach for long walks on beach! The king size bed was very comfortable! Full kitchen with coffee pot, fridge & micro. TVs in living room & bedroom. Great patio with view from 2nd floor! It has been beyond our dreams! Enjoy! Life is good!

This is a great resort. We had our wedding and reception in October 2003. Had the reception upstairs at the Thistle Lodge Resturant. The staff was wonderfull and my wife have been back a number of times for lunch and dinner. Timing is everything as in October 2004 the property suffered damage from the hurricane . They have since repaired everything and still very beautiful.

My husband and I stayed at Casa Ybel for a week long honeymoon in Sanibel. Overall, the stay was wonderful. Without help from our family, we wouldnt have been able to afford a stay here, and honestly would have stayed somewhere cheaper, but it was nice to be able to stay in a little luxury for our honeymoon. We had a one bedroom suite, and it was very big. Nice kitchenette, large king size bed, a jack and jill bathroom with two sinks, tv with dvd player, and a large balcony. Per other reviews on tripadvisor, we had requested to stay on a second floor suite furthest from the pool. Our location was perfect. You definatley get the best view of the ocean on the second floor. For the most part, our area was quiet. We could hear the people below us eating breakfast and talking each morning, but they werent entirely obnoxious. We did have to call the front desk at 12am one time due to a group of guests standing outside our room talking loudly and carrying on while we were trying to sleep. The girl at the front desk told us she talked to the guests, but they were loud the entire rest of our visit. I dont know if thats on the resort though, more just rude people. With all the other wonderful food choices on the island, we didnt not get a chance to try any of the food at Casa Ybel, but the Coconuts bar looked pretty inviting. Only drawback there was that the pool and bar was closed at dusk every night. I understand they were trying to keep it quiet for guests, but my husband and I would have liked to been able to come back from a day of biking/kayaking/on the beach to enjoy a quick swim in the pool or a drink at the bar. I think the should have kept the pool area open till at least 9.

Room Tip: Request a second floor room, and if you prefer more privacy and quiet, ask for a room away from the pool. We stayed in the second to last building named Chinaberry, and it was perfect.

Congratulations and thank you for choosing Casa Ybel Resort! Thank you for the positive review. We appreciate your feedback. You're right, activity at the Coconuts Pool Bar winds down near sunset. Our Thistle Lodge is open in the evening for dinner or our bar lounge. We recently updated thefurnishings on the Patio Veranda with casual seating as well for a more laid back experience. Thanks again for choosing Casa Ybel. We hope you'll join us again. Best regards from the Team at Casa Ybel Resort.

Beautiful grounds. Second floor 2 bedroom unit. Stairs to climb but worth it for the view. Stocked kitchen..just bring groceries. Large lanai...had every meal looking out at the ocean. Large pool with plenty of lounge chairs. Beach is literally 200 feet away.. With white sand, made from shells, so bring your water shoes and a bag for shell collecting. Thistle lodge Restaurant..mmmm good...on site. Beach weddings on some weekend days but never an interference. Basketball nets, tennis court, board games, DVD rentals, planned activities for kids. Always try to please staff make it eve better. Bikes, water toys, and beach lounge chairs available for rent.....Paradise....FOUND.

Favorite resort on Sanibel Island thus far! Been to Casa Ybel several times now and the staff has always been more than accommodating. The units are clean, spacious, and all in good proximity to the main resort area. The kitchens are nice and the screen porches are a perfect place to dine and watch the waves roll in. For a change of pace, the resort has a nice on-site restaurant and a cabana bar that serves food and yummy rum-runners. The location is also great for shelling and the beach is a little quieter than some of the resort areas further south. I finished my first book at this resort and felt safe staying here alone. I've also stayed here with my family and the kids absolutely loved it. The only drawback is the price - quite expensive, but worth *almost every penny!

Room Tip: The first floor units have walk-out steps that face the ocean - very accommodating!
