I happened to be on the resort's website to check my reservation, when an alert regarding renovations appeared. The alert stated "We've got some exciting renovations in progress at Sanibel! Please bear with us throughout this process as our new look might take some time. Areas undergoing renovations include resort pool and pool deck, poolside Tiki bar, and guest rooms".
I immediately emailed customer service, as this information was not shared when I made my initial reservation or communicated via email. The response I received: "I am so sorry the Tiki bar and Pool are will be under renovations and not able to be used. However the beach is our backyard and we do provide beach chairs for you as well as the restaurant will be open for all meal periods and the bar in the main dining room for drinks. Sorry for the inconvenience."
I chose this resort because I am travelling solo and wanted the convenience of these onsite amenities. It is very disappointing that the management of this resort did not contact guests with reservations to alert them of these renovations. I would have been livid if I would have arrived to a resort with no pool or bar.More
