“Great accommodations!”
Reviewed August 29, 2014

From the moment my sister and I arrived, the staff at Sanibel Inn was very courteous and genuine. The grounds are just gorgeous with a beautiful, well-kept pool with a large deck. The beach is just steps from the pool. The rooms have a screened-in porch, and ours overlooked the pool and the ocean beyond. There was no extra cost to use bicycles, pool floats, or towels. Also at no extra cost, a gentleman takes out comfortable chaise lounge chairs and umbrellas to the beach for guests. VERY cool!! The front desk called on our second day to see if everything was OK, and we mentioned a very small issue with the shower. Someone came within two hours and fixed it! We would definitely stay here again! M. Speranza

Stayed here in February 2014. Review is long overdue. While this is not a luxury resort, it is the low key atmosphere that ended up being part of the charm. I really loved that they did not nickel and dime you. There are no additional fees for things like beach lounge chairs and umbrellas. There are bicycles available to borrow, which we used every single day. We stayed in the Periwinkle building and had a great view of the gulf. We didn't eat at the resort restaurant but did partake in drinks by the pool bar several times. Overall a very pleasant trip and would stay here again.

Stayed there from 08/19-08/27. Booked as a package through JetBlue Airlines. We could not have been happier with our choice. The location is perfect. Right on the beach and close to the causeway where you enter and exit the island. We received a free upgrade on our room from a one bedroom to a two bedroom, two bathroom unit with kitchen! The room was beautiful and immaculate. The staff are professional and very friendly. The $12.00 per day resort fees are well worth it because we utilized the access to bicycles, kayaks and beach umbrellas and chairs. Would definitely stay there again!

This was only our second visit to Sanibel Island and we decided to try this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly, courteous staff and the great service we received. Raymond greeted us upon our arrival and we registered and he explained all the amenities available and told us to call him if we needed anything.

I was impressed by the room, facing the pool and gulf, and totally screened in to prevent bugs from biting. The room was clean for the most part, but we had to call in housekeeping to touch up some spots in the bathroom, which they promptly attended to. The air conditioner worked well and kept the temperature cool the entire time we were there. We had a microwave, refrigerator, cabinets and s mall table in the kitchen area. Although there were folks on both sides of us, you could hear nothing and the room was nice and quiet. The only thing missing here, was an outside fan to circulate the air on the enclosed deck. We had a non smoking room and there was a hint of cigarette smell on the outside deck.

The pool was well attended to and was clean. There were plenty of chaises about as well as regular seats and tables. I thought there could have been a place, near the pool, where there was a bit of shade to get out the blazing hot sun. The Tiki bar was great and the entire personnel staff was courteous to a turn, pleasant, helpful, and very professional. The only real down point is that they do not offer morning coffee other than the small pots in your room. Those coffee pots leave much to be desired in the taste etc. and I would refer to have freshly brewed coffee available, especially in the morning.

This is a place that I would definitely return to when I come back to Sanibel. The friendly atmosphere and the "family feeling" they create here, makes this a wonderful place and well worth the money spent.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a Gulf view and ne that has an outside fan on the patio!

Great location and friendly staff! Easy check in on 8/22 with very nice ladies. Staff called us next day to make sure all okay. Loved our room, comfortable beds and pillows. Everything was clean , and thank goodness the AC was awesome because weather this weekend was sweltering! Beautiful view. Did not eat in restaurant but quickly found at Tiki Bar drinks are watered down. Our challenge was the several steps to get up to our first floor room with handicapped Mother. No ramps anywhere but when I reserved the staff was upfront about the steps. Other problem was no handicapped parking near Jasmine unit and some people actually parked their cars sideways and took up way to much room. Several times we had to park around dark corner by condo's. Except for these issues though the Inn is great. I would definitely stay here again, just not with a handicapped person.

Stayed there earlier this month with my husband and two boys. The room was absolutely beautiful, really spacious and immaculate, bathroom lovely too. Unfortunately we were on the first floor (ground to us Brits) and so although we could see the sea it was a bit obscured by greenery. Also the mosquito netting made it very dark. Pool area is really nice, the pool is clean and there are plenty of loungers. Loved the beach, it's not the most beautiful I've ever seen but great for shelling and you get loungers and umbrellas included so you can just grab them. Check in was wonderful, we came a day early and they still accommodated us. My only issue with this hotel is the food, there is a bar by the pool where you can order food but in August it's so hot all you want is to get inside and get some AC to eat. Also there was literally nothing veggie on the very limited menu. Breakfast was also disappointing, no staff, we waited for ages and again a very limited menu. That said, overall, a wonderful property and we absolutely loved Sanibel and Captiva, what a magical place!

Room Tip: Above ground floor

Our stay at the Sanibel Inn helped make this vacation a real joy for my wife and I. The following list provides some of the reasons why we enjoyed our stay: 1. We had a view of the gulf from our first floor room which included a screened-in balcony and ceiling fan; 2. The room was spacious with the air conditioner located where it would not blow on us while sleeping; 3. All employees, including outside workers, were courteous and friendly; 4. A wall separated the tub/shower and toilet from the bathroom vanity area; 5. The cleaning staff replaced used bathroom accessories and kept the room clean daily; 6. The swimming pool was large and never overcrowded; 7. The room contained a refrigerator and microwave with a small counter and cabinet area; 8. The office had newspapers daily; and 9. The hotel was in an excellent location and easy to find. Two recommendations for the bathroom would be an electric vent and a hook for hanging a robe on. Two eating facilities were on the hotel site.

Room Tip: Higher floors generally have better views of the gulf.
