My husband, 15-year old son, and 9-year old daughter stayed at Sanibel Moorings for a week in early June, based on a recommendation by a friend of ours who has been going there since the 1970s when he was a kid. It was everything we could have asked for and more...beautiful unit, gorgeous pool and phenomenal gardens. It was steps from the beach and a short and safe walk to the other side of the complex to the bayside and a second pool. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, especially when we had a very rude bunch of kids who were being bullies in the pool (no parents around). Management dealt with it professionally and instantly, which we appreciated. Even tropical storm Andrea couldn't dampen our first two days...we will return to Sanibel again and won't think of staying anywhere else but Sanibel Moorings...

Room Tip: No need to pack pool toys, beach chairs, umbrellas or hair dryers. Sanibel Moorings takes care of all of that. Get one of the rooms overlooking the pool. In the 700 building you will still have a view of the Gulf also....

This was our second stay at this resort and everything was just as good as we remembered it. We stayed in a 3 bedroom gulf-front condo. The resort is well maintained and the grounds are beautiful. The staff is very courteous and helpful.

Six of us stayed very comfortably. Great gulf view, nice medium sized saltwater pool. Exchange towels as often as needed. Nice little laundry room, beautiful scenery! Lots of butterflies and tiny lizards all day. Awesome front row seat to those classic Florida rainstorms coming in from the gulf. We've stayed twice, still recommend it if it falls into your budget.

It was our first time at Sanibel Island and we did the right choice of booking at Sanibel Moorings. We were able to enjoy our vacation with our dog. The condo was great, like in timeshares. The canal is perfect for kayaking, which they provide for free. If you're lucky you can spot the manatee. Beach was fantastic and is right in front. Pat is the best in booking. Tuesdays Botanical Tour and Wednesdays box turtle tagging adds up to their amenities. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Room Tip: If you have pets and love peace and quiet, book rooms at bldg 14. 1421 was great!

We were making a return visit to Sanibel after a few years absence. I found the Sanibel Mooring condominium location through a TripAdvisor review of Sanibel locations. This one was a gem. Unlike other condo rentals, this one will allow you to book only a few days and not the entire week. Also through their website you can click on the various rooms and get a look at what your room and the views from the room would actually look like. That is a big plus instead of getting placed in a room by the management based on availability.
We stayed in unit 732 which is on the second floor. We had a nice side view of the gulf from our 2nd floor balcony (which I would recommend if you want to see the water). The master bedroom had a balcony that overlooked the pool area, much to my surprise it wasn't as loud as I thought that it would be, but I guess that would depend on how crowded it was on that particular day. The unit was decorated quite nicely with some personal touches and had almost everything that you would need, just bring your food supplies with you.
The Moorings is a great place, very lush garden areas with a weekly tour by a naturalist to tell you about the plants...(most of the plants are marked for identification which was great). They also bring in a shell expert once a week to help you identify those shells that you found on the beach. They have laundry facilities on the premises and an area with several grills for you to cook from. They have a nice conference center with several computers for you to use and a nice selection of movies to rent.
It is ideally located just steps from the beach and they also provide chairs and umbrellas for guests to use on the beach (1st come basis). They also have a couple of kayaks and a canoe for you to use in the canals at the back of the condo complex.
Our stay was delightful, despite the inclement weather we had during our trip. If you can't lay on the beach then there is always good shelling to be done, even in the rain!

Room Tip: Almost any 2nd floor room in one of the front beach units look like they will give you a nice view of the water. We enjoyed room 732 very much.
