Good service and food quality with pleasant live musc. We went twice as we were staying in the hotel. As with most restaurants on the island it is a little pricey.

#1 - This was the ONLY place in the Island that charged for refills on soft drinks (lemonade). #2 - My husband’s meat came out room temperature while the veggies were extremely hot as well as the plate. There was not much meat on the bone but we were hungry since it took some time to bring the food out so we ate. My biggest dislike was the owner Andreas. When we told the waiter about the meat being room temperature, politely he offered to get the owner. The owner related a message through the staff and never came to our table. His message was that because my husband ate the meat there was nothing he could do and offered us a drink (The owner saw me pregnant when we walked in). We declined the drinks and asked for the check. It was not about getting something for free; it was the fact that the owner had no management or social skills. Which made other things stand out more; like the under staff, two neighboring tables complaining to their waiters, our waiter charging us for three entrees instead of two and no water refills through out the whole meal. Bottom line, owner should have approached his customers not the waiter. We spend over $100.00 for two people.

We didnt have a chance to have dinner here, but we stopped in for drinks at the bar and for the live music. They have live music nightly with a dance floor for dancing.

A visit to Traditions is always a perfect ending to our day on Sanibel. The hosts, Andrea and Paulo make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The setting is beautiful, overlooking the beach and lovely Gulf . The wait staff is excellent, especially Michael, who we request each time we are there.
The wine selections are quite nice, by the bottle or glass. Caesar salad is excellent. We have had a number of the Specials, usually the fish dishes and have never been disappointed . Veal dishes are all excellent as well.
Traditions is a lovely treat for us every trip to Sanibel.

We visited Traditions on our last night in Sanibel to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary and looking back, it appears we DID save the best for last. After spending 12 of the best days of our lives vacationing in Sanibel, our vacation was winding down. We visited many different restaurants in Sanibel all of which we rated good to very good. However, we were about to visit excellence.

We made our reservations for 8 but arrived a little early. Rather than appearing put out, our host, Andre, actually appeared happy to see us and was able to warmly seat us immediately. The dining room was beautiful and the set up was perfect. Plenty of room, no cramped tables and a big dance floor! The pianist and soloist were spectacular!

The best part of our night was meeting and being served by our waiter, Cory. This 24-year-old man knows Sanibel like the back of his hand and shared with us his knowledge of the history of the island, as well as his experiences growing up in Florida. While it was a Saturday night and the restaurant was busy, Cory treated us as though we were his only table. His service was beyond excellent. I was so impressed by his anticipatory guidance....my wine glass as never less than 1/4th full. The food was absolutely incredible and the service was impeccable. My husband had scallops and I had lobster. This excellent dinner was followed by music and dancing. There is no other restaurant on Sanibel that delivers all of this so well!

If you get a chance to stop by Traditions and ask for Cory to serve you. It is our most memorable night in Sanibel!
