A disappointing experience with average food at a premium price. Rickety tables too close together, the cheapest cutlery and perfunctory service..

Dining with wife and two grown daughters, we were treated to some of the best food on the island. Extensive wine selection, delicious antipasto, and tasty salads, including the Mista baby greens and the pear salad. Lobster Agrodolce appetizer to die for! Most amazing entree selection. We were tempted by the Sea Bass Tescano, best presentation and flavor ever. Lobster ravioli and mushroom ravioli, both so different and delicious. This, topped off by scrumptious homemade tiramisu and frozen lemoncello custard. Absolutely wonderful evening, our thanks to you!

I struggled whether to rate this with 2 or 3 stars. Overall I found the food disappointing, not helped by the fact we were overcharged on our bill which they blamed on a printing error from the menu. I had the swordfish special which on first bite was quite good but became bland over the meal. However, the risotto that accompanied it was mediocre at best. The waiter asked if everything was OK before I really had a chance to try the risotto on first bite of the swordfish. I never called him back to complain so not sure how it would have changed if I did. I had mushroom ravioli as a starter which I thought was a bit undercooked but was nice. Was also surprised that most of the seafood on the menu wasn't local.

Overall, not a terrible meal. My wife enjoyed her food and the ambiance was nice. No outdoor seating which is a bit of a disappointment in Florida

This was our second dinner at Il Tesoro. The restaurant is cozy and intimate. We have had two meals there recently and both were fantastic. We started off with the butternut squash soup which is great taste for this time of year. It was fresh, flavorful, and the texture was perfect. Our main entrees of osso buco and risotto were equally tasty. Every person can have their own opinion on salt, spices, etc - but a restaurant that consistently delivers fresh well made food is top notch in my book. Il Tesoro delivers food that is made the way a dish is supposed to be made. Swordfish was delivered nice and tender not overcooked and tough like most restaurants - why - they clearly have a trained professional chef -not a cook. Lobster apps are fantastic fresh and modern. Classic dishes as mentioned are done in every way they are supposed to be. For this type of food you will pay a bit more - as the quality and delivery is far superior than pre prepared microwaved melted cheesy greasy huge dishes most Fort Myerians like. The service can be little inconsistent - we were not offered the selection of a couple things other tables had with different server - but overall Il Tesoro will not disappoint people foodies.

It was Christmas Day and the restaurant was crowded. It is small and intimate and still the service was great. The food was esoteric but delicious. I don't mind paying when it is worth it and I was happy at this restaurant.
