“Wonderful Experience: Excellent Italian All Around!”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

We found this restaurant by chance - It's like the old expression "That good things happen to good people". The owners & restaurant staff are professional, but really nice people. The food is amazing, and the decor is so charming (inspired by A.J. & Jolie, Husband & Wife), that it was easy for us to forget where we were dining (Italy, New York, Boston, Nantucket, and Quebec City type venues came to mind). Their Calamari Fritti was among the best I have ever had!! We also loved their homemade pastas - especially mushroom ravioli if it's on the menu. We also enjoyed very nice wine by the glass, along with delicious home-made dessert(s) & coffee. My Son, who is 5 years old, really loved the cannoli too!!

“Great Food, Pricey Menu, Mediocre Service”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

The food is some of the best on the island, an extensive menu with all the items you expect from a fine Italian restaurant plus daily specials - all wonderfully prepared and presented - but it's not cheap. The waiter brought a wine list - by the bottle only, we had to ask for the listings by the glass - all ranging from $10 to $15 to $18 a glass - really? This isn't NY. Likewise, the waiter's recommendations were the $50 Dover Sole and the $35 Sea Bass and although I did order the wonderful Sea Bass, my friend ordered the $19 antipasto appetizer (excellent) for dinner and that is when the service took a downward spiral. I appreciate upselling but not at the expense of good service. The bread was stale, appetizer plates were not cleared before dinner was brought, no offer of more wine - we had to flag down the waiter for another glass, and when the dinner plates were cleared we were hastily given the check - without any offer of dessert - which we would have ordered had we been given the chance.
I will go back because the food is that good - but beware of the prices and service issues.

“Fantastic creative menu!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Only wished we had discovered this gem at the beginning of our recent trip to Sanibel Island! It was wonderful. Creative, delicious menu and nice accompanying wine selections. The tables are close but the atmosphere is lively. Each at our table had a different selection from the menus and all were tasty and well presented.
And being from NJ we will try their locations at 82nd and 1st!

“GREAT ITALIAN FOOD”
Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

We had a wonderful meal at Il Tesoro on a Friday night in March (peak season on Sanibel Island). Our reservation was honored on time with a nice table for 4. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and explaind in details the specials as well as answering our questions on the menu. The wine list was very good and we found a grteat choice that was average in price. Our food was delicious. The atmosphere was suitable for carrying on a good conversation. We definitely will go again. It is one of the more pricey places on the island if you do numerous courses, but an appetizer and an entre with wine for two was around $130. Well woth it!
