This lighthouse is different from others. A large steel structure. Just one sign to read about its history.
A nice bike ride location. A park to stop and cool off with restrooms.
Wife, daughter and myself rode bicycles. Easy ride, went in morning. Area was clean and very nice. Great place to look for shells
I have never seen a real lighthouse so I was intrigued and decided to go for a drive by. I wasn't real impressed but I can mark it off my "to see" list. P
Interesting history. The area is well maintained. Fishing pier within walking distance.Rest rooms available.
Very nice area. Beautiful views, nice beaches. Interesting lighthouse. Pay to park was a unpleasant surprise.
The lighthouse is not what you are picturing in your head. This is not something you can climb up and get a great view of the water. This is a 150+ year old lighthouse that stands on a steel structure. It sits on a nice beach with shallow water making for great shelling and swimming. Parking is $5/hour, which we thought was obscene, but there is no other charge to get into the park. You can bring beverages, including alcohol onto the beach. There is a fishing pier and and historical placards throughout the trails. There are showers and bathrooms to accommodate children as well as adults. There are a ton of shells so if you're into shelling this is a perfect spot for that.
