I say "surprisingly" because after reading other reviews, we were skeptical. But we were so last minute on this trip that we were grateful for any availability. As it turned out, the experience was very good. From reservation to check in, we received prompt, courteous service. We took advantage of a special they were running which saved some $$. During our stay the staff was very accommodating with any requests we had, including a late checkout our last day due to a late flight.

This property is not new or luxurious, but it is clean, well kept, comfortable and quiet. Our unit had updated fixtures, granite, what appeared to be new appliances. The kitchen was adequately equipped and the furniture updated and comfortable. We did not dine on the property at all, so can't comment on that experience. We did take advantage of the free use of high quality comfortable bikes, the beautiful beach and plentiful beach chairs and umbrellas. Since it was Spring break there were many families that seemed to really enjoy the pool and its nearby amenities, but we were traveling without children so we didn't use the pool area.

The only less than good thing was that the wifi only worked well on the lanai. But the weather was so gorgeous this trip that sitting out there using our devices was not a problem.

Room tip: We were in bldg. G which was away from the pool area and very quiet.

Dear Idarch:
I must say, I love the "G" building myself. Close enough and far enough so I completely understand.
I truly believe that we offer one of the most competitive resort amenities when it comes to a minimal resort fee. We include Bikes, kayaks, beach chairs, umbrellas and soon to come paddle boards.
On the wifi, I am very happy to say that the condo associations are talking about revamping not only their wifi service but their Cable provider as well.
They are recognizing that the need for wifi these days is not a luxury but a necessity.
Our main building (which we control) has great signal, but for the entire experience to work we need it to be all around the resort.
Thank you again for taking the time to write a review and we look forward to see you again next time.
Be sure to ask for me when you return.

My girlfriend's and I go away every year and this year we decided to go back to the Sundial. For the last two years we went to The South Seas Resort on Captiva which we loved but decided to change it up this year. The staff at the resort where wonderful. We had booked a three bedroom Coastal Residence but there were some problems with the homeowners and they had to switch our room choice. We had a beautiful two bedroom with a den. Because of the inconvenience we were delighted to find that Julio the Director of Services had given us a wonderful cheese and fruit basket with two bottles of wine. WONDERFUL! All of the staff at the hotel were exceptional. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed bike riding, tennis and nightly entertainment. They also have a great kids programs running all day long. The restaurant choices on Sanibel are endless and one is better than the next. We will definitely be returning to the Sundial.

My husband and I just visited the Sundial Resort this weekend, and I have to say, what a wonderful and very friendly place! There is great access to the beautiful beach and a great pool with a fun little slide to keep the kids busy--that is when they aren't playing ping pong, or getting their hair braided, biking, or in the aquatic center...! They also have kayaks which are free to hotel guests! Its really a great place for all ages!
The outdoor bar is great--really big and the two bartenders working were top notch. Great service and very friendly! We had a few drinks, appetizers, and a salad from the menu and everything was very tasty!
All in all this was a great resort, we will be back! Looking forward to the newly renovated day spa to open for our next visit! :)

From the time we arrived at the resort to the time we left, we had a blast. The staff was Absolutely amazing, always so friendly and wonderful attitudes! Made us feel so special and welcome. Our servers in the Seabreeze restaurant were awesome! Joey was so attentive with his huge smile. Rose was so warm and kind and we just loved them both. Kevin in the Waterview made our last night just perfect and also waited on us for breakfast. The food was always delicious. Seafood chowder was the best I've ever had. At the tiki bar Jason and Mike and another Kevin were so friendly and made you feel like you were in paradise. They also did a fantastic job. Be sure to take advantage of the Happy Hour menu. Best homemade chips and sauces ever! Berry was always at the towels and bike and started our day off great with his positive attitude and charm. The bikes were great and we enjoyed touring Sanibel via bike. Our condo was perfect always lots of towels toiletries coffee etc. we never had to ask for a thing. Beach chairs and umbrellas were plentiful. Nothing negative to say other than we eventually had to leave. I'd go back in a heartbeat! My compliments to the management!

Three restaurants on site. Reasonably priced happy hour specials.

Several pools. Fitness center.

Next time I come to sanibel which will probably be next year, I'll stay here. Have eve considered buying.
