We spent a week at the Sundial over the fourth of July. The reviews I had read about housekeeping problems did prove to be true. They seemed to show up late afternoon everyday just as we were returning from the beach and everyone was showering. We would just have them leave clean towels, take the trash and leave. Our last day there they never showed up. We took our trash to the bins by the elevators and when we checked out the next day the same trash cans by the elevators had not been emptied, the bags of garbage where piled high. I had called the front desk to ask them to empty it the night before and they said they would be right up to empty it. Our unit in the "A" building had these tiny little ants in the kitchens, we kept all of our food in the frig.
The staff was very nice. My only complaint would be that on our second day we decided to buy the amenities package. The girl at the front desk tried to charge us $30 per person/per day. She was corrected by the other girl...it's $30 per day/per unit. We have been coming to the Sundial for 8 years-this fee is a good deal if you use all of the inclusions. For the three of us, all we use are the towels and beach chairs.
We had 2 dinners at the restaurant and the meals were excellent. Mike at the bar was helpful and provided great service.
I'm sure we return next year. We love Sanibel Island, and I'm sure the Sundial will take care of the housekeeping issues.

I stayed here with my husband this past weekend for a work conference. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. I was pleasantly suprised at how large it was. Full kitchen, dining area, living room with flatscreen & dvd. Slider to the screened porch. Bedroom also had a flatscreen, dvd and slider to the porch, a large closet with large safe and a bathroom-shower only. Beautiful gulf view and very proximal to the pool & beach. The hotel seemed very accomodating to our group. I would definately come here again.

Room Tip: We had the J building. Best spot I think, it is a pretty big hotel, I am sure some of the other bui...

We just returned from a week at The Sundial! We were three families and had the best time ever! The rooms were spacious, clean and beautiful. The amenities were outstanding, kayaks, pools and bikes--fun everyday. The staff added the final touch of hospitality. Thanks to everyone!

Stayed here a few years ago and came back to see some really nice upgrades. Lots of live music and entertainment for the family. Food was great and check out the Mai-Tai's. The margaritas could be spiced up a bit. My kids had a blast and I will definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommended for a family looking for relaxation and fun.

we have been to sundial several times over the years and always had a great time and came back home relaxed and recharged...this time we had concerns about our condo because it did not meet the standards we have had in the past...however....when i spoke to the front desk general manager about our concerns about the condo we were given she was very very accommodating to us and had us look at a few other condos that were available....we were very surprised when we ended up with a grand beachfront unit that was breathtaking!!!! if you have never stayed in a beachfront unit because of the cost i am telling you it is soooo worth the extra...we will always try to stay in one now....even if it means eating in a little more or shopping a little less....i also want to tell you that we fell into this less desireable unit i believe because we did the special rate of stay 3 nights get 1 free...i do feel they give you a not so nice unit when you go for the special...never again...beachfront is the way to go. also the changes to the resort are very nice especially when you eat lunch outside and i also felt that when you called for service of any kind it was done quickly and efficiently. my sons only complaint was he felt they needed new bikes the chain kept falling off his....that being said i highly recommend this resort

Room Tip: go beachfront if you can afford it...1500 sq. ft. is the average grand beachfront unit...if you cann...

We had a blast at Sundial Beach Resort this summer. The people are friendly and there are so many things to do there. The room was very clean and if we needed something for the room the employees responded right away. The only bad thing was that our room did not face the beach but we were close to it. They let you use bikes to ride, you can kayak, and they have many activities for the kids. The pool area was fun and the food was great! We sure will come back....this is actually our second time here:)

My wife and I celebrated our 29th anniversary here and enjoyed our time greatly. The front desk had a very friendly staff. Plenty of activities for everyone. Our grandson had a fantastic time. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If possible, get a room with a view of the gulf.
