Owner description: The largest Farmers Market in the southeast United States, with over 170 vendors rotating through 135 spaces. An extraordinary selection of prepared food, great crafts, plants, flowers, and more. A wonderful selection of produce straight from the farm. Live music every week, and lots of tables to hang out and enjoy a great sense of community. Come see what many people say is the best thing to ever happen in St Petersburg. The Market runs from October - May. (9am - 2pm) The smaller nearby Williams Park Summer Market runs from June - August (9am - 1pm)

Loads of food vendors selling items from knishes to samosas - WOW!! Too many to try in one visit and all smelled delicious. There was also fresh produce, meats, and baked items available for purchase, many organic and locally grown. Some craft vendors, music and the lovely waterfront. No charge to attend but nearby garages charge to park. Market is not open in the summer. Taste and enjoy!

Stopped here on our way to the beach. What a great find! All of the vendors were top notch and very friendly. There was even entrainment on the Mahaffey stage which was excellent. All of the food choices were amazing which actually became overwhelming for my "foodie" husband! So many good choices and only so much room in his stomach! I have to say how fantastic the organic fruit and veggie stand was; this vendor could make you become a vegetarian! Top notch market and a "must do" stop again!

If you have an efficiency this is the place to buy Friuits and vegetables. There's music, balloon artists for the kids. Everything from breakfast to lunch - very ethnic. The best strawberries we've ever tasted. Jewelry and outdoor furniture - home made soaps. Very enjoyable just to walk around and take in the smells and sounds.

This is one of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday! And I always come on an empty stomach, with a semi-formulated meal plan for the week. The empty stomach gets a cup of gourmet coffee right away on entering the market place, then I have to decide on food: do I want a specialty empanada (I've had egg, bacon & cheddar; spinach, feta & egg white; and ginger pear), or fresh baked pastries, a crepe (sweet or savory), or the best Belgian waffles I've ever had (from Sylvia -- and yes, she's from Belgium)? Or do I want to go right for lunch-type foods? There is some of the best Thai food outside of Thailand, and there's Greek, Ethiopian, Cajun/Creole, Brick-oven pizza, amazing guacamole, Fruit smoothies... So many choices. There are a couple of great produce stands as well, which is where I'll pick up some fresh, local and often organic veggies for the week. I can also grab fresh local eggs, local organic beef & poultry and cheeses. But I usually do my "grocery" shopping after I've had a chance to peruse all the local artisans: jewelry, body products, textile crafts, glass, etc.

There's not a lot of shade, so be sure to wear sunscreen, and comfortable shoes because you may want to walk around it twice -- once to see what's offered, and then again to make your selections. Lots of locals bring their dogs, there's live music -- just a fun day in St Pete.

I've been to outdoor markets all over the country (and some in other countries) and this is the best I've been to. The vendors go through a rigorous selection process, so all of their wares are top quality. There's live music and a guy who makes balloon sculptures for the kids. It's dog-friendly for friendly dogs - many of the vendors put out water bowls for our furry friends. There's a great selection of natural and organic foods (including organic dog treats). I love the amazing organic produce. It's a great family day - free to get in and parking on the side streets is free or garages are around $3. Tip: Get there early because it gets busy after about 10:30.
