“Nice sanctuary in the middle of town”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

We visited Boyd Hill as part of a photography tour. It was a pleasant experience seeing how they take care of wounded birds and a nice walk in the woods, but not so much on this visit for photography. They recently had a controlled burn, so lots of the scenery was brown. Another visit in six months to a year will be very different and enjoyable. The staff was particularly helpful and very pleasant to deal with in planning our walks. It is a place to return for another visit once it has greened again.

“Crown jewel of St. Pete!”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

This is a hidden gem right in an urban area! One of the best kept secrets in St. Pete. Great easy trails to walk, run or bike. See bald eagles, hawks, owls, snakes, bunnies, gators, gopher tortoise, even coyote! Find peace within a city. They have the best camps for kids in the area at a very affordable price. My daughter is in love with the pioneer camp where kids can run free, get muddy, dirty and sweaty outdoors like kids should! My children have both learn so much from the camps offered about nature, animals, and how to care for the environment. This is the best place to learn about and see Florida wildlife!

“a natural oasis”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

This little 275 acre oasis was a welcome respite to the overdevelopment rampant in coastal Florida. The staff are most helpful and kids would enjoy the displays of rescued birds and animals

“Although they have improved...”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

The walkways are better than they once were and the flora has been allowed to grow in a bit more, its location does not breed a sense of safety. It's a lovely site, but venture into that part of St. Petersburg at your own risk.

“Be Sure to Visit”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

We visited on a special week end so there were tables promoting various ecological organizations and kids activities and free admission. We took the alligator tour and were delighted to spot a big old alligator sunning by a river. We also visited the rescue birds and loved the owls.
This is a piece of St Petersburg before it became a city. you are in the wilds but just minutes form downtown St Petersburg. it is a delight.
there is ample parking, the staff are very friendly and there is much to explore here.
