My husband and I always enjoy the St. Petersburg waterfront as it is truly a gem. This Saturday April 17, 2010 it was all about the Mainsail Arts Festival at Vinoy Park on the Bay. Following this extraordinary event we popped in to the Marchand's Grill at the Vinoy Hotel for lunch. This is the second and final time that we will give them an opportunity to make our day. The service was sloppy with a most unattentive waitress - missing iced tea spoon, bread, checking in to see if all was OK and ignored that we were low on iced tea. The food was again not only unremarkable but very disappointing. My husband had lobster bisque that was presented in it's grayish tone with no embelishments. My Marchand's salad had very dry chicken slices, with a sour tasting avacado and again nothing special. The dryness of the chicken was extreme. This is sad because the Vinoy is a very beautiful place. I was disappointed a few months ago in taking guests there after a museum visit.
