consistently great! creative southwestern cuisine. the duck enchiladas are incredible. you will NOT be disappointed with the enchilada trio! Argentinian skirt steak is delicious and the pork dishes are terriffic too. my wife and I always enjoy the sangria- not too sweet like many restaurants. go early - 6pm, because you may have to wait.

“Best Restaurant in Tampa for Mexican”
Reviewed November 28, 2009

Red Mesa begins with a wonderful atmosphere - the outdoor seating area is beautiful, with a small fountain and a lovely garden. Next up are the perfect pitchers of sangria - pitch perfect with a reasonable price. I ordered indvidual tacos - thumbs up for mexican with vegetarian options such as tofu! Also to die for was the ahi taco and the duck taco with goat cheese - those three together were the perfect meal size. My friend got a chicken burrito, and also found it to be delicious. The bar had live music that evening - and while we didn't check out the bar scene, it looked like a great place to check out later at night.

“Best Mexcian Food East of Mexico City”
Reviewed September 12, 2009

Having moved from NYC I had given up on finding quality Mexican food. This place was so good that I may go again next weekend. The only negative is..... and a big one... No full bar=no tequila.

“Not good at all!”
Reviewed August 11, 2009

The appetizers were over priced and tiny. I tried to order something and I don't eat beef, I asked for substitions and they don't do that, only because they prepare everything in the morning (which is disgusting). The service wasn't great and the servers aren't friendly. My boyfriend had a taco, it was overpriced and tasted identical to taco bell. The place looked better than the food tasted. My mom had the soup, she said it was okay, it was 6 dollars and overpriced. I had the salad it was tiny and the dressing was sour and had a strong odor of tequilla.

“What a deal”
Reviewed May 4, 2009

This restaurant blends American Southwestern Texmex cuisine and a hint of Cuban. Awesome fresh flavors in everything from the appetizers, to the Mariscos y Pescados (seafood) , to the Carne dishes. Not much on atmosphere but the food is Definitely worth a trip to this restaurant! Service was very good, as well. And what a good value!
