Before we even came thru the front door we were greeted by Michael C. who remembered us from last year. That kind of welcome continued during our whole stay at the Hollander. The housekeeping staff, the folks at the front desk and the wait people at The Tap Room all did whatever was needed to help us have a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. If you are visiting St Petersburg Florida this is where to book your vacation.

Friendly staff, good location, clean rooms, reasonably priced, and a good vibe. The fact that it was not a chain motel and had a character of its own appealed to me.
Stayed 3 days on a business trip and will look to stay again next time in the area.

Charming hotel in an excellent location. Friendly staff. You can step out the entrance , turn right and take a stroll in a cute neighborhood. Clean and charming interior and rooms. Rooms are tiny but that even added to the charm. Wood flooring in rooms instead of carpet which is also nice. Free wifi and there was a living/common room on our floor to relax in instead of the lobby living room. Nice coffee shop in lobby with tasty espresso drinks and other offerings.. We will definitely stay here again.
Cat lover?
Take a can of cat food or two to feed 5 abandoned cats that hang out at
an SRO building 2 doors to the west.
CON: Restaurant/TAP ROOM menu needs improving and updating. Food served to my friends was not properly prepared. One plate of pancakes burned on both sides and the other plate cold. Tap Room turns into a loud disco at nights and the music was turned up louder and louder.

Room Tip: 2nd floor First floor is noisy due to TAP ROOM

This is not a cookie cutter chain motel. A historic building that retains its charm, with wood floors in the guest rooms and deep old style tubs in the bathrooms. The staff was very helpful and put me in a third floor room away from the street where it would be quieter. There is a great restaurant downstairs. The downtown area is a few blocks away, making it easy to walk from the hotel and explore the shops and restaurants in the city.

This was our 3rd visit to the Hollander and it is still an excellent place to stay.

We again chose a king suite with small kitchen - check in was friendly and helpful, room was clean and for the price, it's the best downtown hotel in St Petersburg.

Parking is 'intersting'; you can now no longer go under the archway into the parking lot, as they are building a swimming pool and so you have to drive up the alleyway at the side, which is located next to a hostel. No one there will bother you, but be careful to look out for people walking around at night.

Don't forget Tuesday night is $3 craft beers in the bar!!

Room Tip: Go for a king suite as it gives you plenty of space
