I'm a true blue Yankee (living in Houston - how bizarre) and I firmly believe that the Italians in the north east have cornered the market on yummiest Italian food EVER. I'm very leery of Italian restaurant pizzas and calzones because most people just don't make them right! However, Toscana made us one of the very best calzones I've ever had the pleasure to munch on, and that says a lot.
They stuffed it with ricotta and mozzarella and would have added ham but I asked for mushrooms & onions instead. The marinara was warm and sweet and yummy as well.
Oh, and the pizza was fantabulous, too. It's the kind you have to fold and support. It's just right! I wish Toscana was here in the Houston area; we'd be there all the time.
