Friendly, helpful staff. Charming room (we loved the wood floors - no icky carpet), well maintained and comfortable. Location was perfect for visiting museums, restaurants, shops, without getting in the car. And the beautiful bayfront parks right across the street. What could be better?

Everything about our experience at this hotel was great. The staff were friendly and the location was convenient for walking to many St. Pete attraction including the downtown restaurants and shops. The hotel had a lot of character and I really liked that each room was modern and unique.

I spent a week at the Ponce de Leon in St. Petersburg and was very impressed with the service. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are modern and spacious. The location couldn't be better if you are interested in downtown St. Petes. Cerviche, the attached restaurant, is fantastic! Great room, great food, great service. At happy hour you can get tapas for $4 M-F. For me that was a fabulous dinner for $8! Small quibble, the PDL is advertised as "Waterfront" which it is not. The yacht club blocks the view from most room, although the water is only minutes away. I asked to change rooms to get a view and they were very accomodating. The hotel is very quite but there is quite a bit of noise from the street. Oh and the beds are super comfortable.

Room Tip: Waterfront rooms end with a "0" or choose a room on the north side to get away from vehicl...

Nothing special except the tapas restaurant was excellent and it is in a good location for downtown activities. Parking is at a ramp nearby so add another $12 per day for it. Staff seemed in their own world to nonexistent.

I never went. I called to ask about the rooms and the lady was talking to other people while on the phone with me. i was put on hold 3 times before i verified about the adjoining rooms price. We ended up not going (due to weather we cancelled the trip) but the wanted to charge me the full night's rate anyway. I realize they have a 2 day cancellation policy, but I made the reservation 2 days in advance! I told them a family member was in the hospital and they bumped it down to only $50 fee which was nice, but the manager started arguing that he has to charge since its so hard to book rooms with late notice. I argued back that there were still rooms for sale, what's the difference with mine that's only been booked 2 days.....that's when he was very rude and tried to charge me the full amount again!!!!!!!! I will NEVER stay at this hotel now. Maybe if the whole staff was nicer you'd have more business!!!!!!!

Charming older hotel in the heart of what's happening in St. Petersburg. Easy walking access to museums, restaurants(including attached "Ceviche Tapas") and events near waterfront. Room was small but adequate - bathroom was a bit of a joke - really teeny. Very pleasant, friendly, and helpful staff. Parking available weekdays on lot across the street for $4.00 per day; free after Fri. at 6p.m.thru Mon. 8 a.m. on Central Ave.. My sister and I had no issues with noise as mentioned in some reviews. Experience felt somewhat like being in a European style pension. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Room size was adequate. Sort of had to roll with the punches as far as the bathroom is concerned. A...

Stayed here one night for the location as we had some festivities to attend downtown St. Pete. It was the cheapest hotel in the area and we were not looking for anything fancy. Took 30+ minutes to check in with only one other visitor ahead of us... The room was small and outdated with a tiny TV. Woke up several times throughout the night due to the noise from other people walking around their rooms - very thin walls and ceiling. We were just happy to be staying within a few blocks of the bars.
