My dad has a time share here and this year he invited us to join him. My husband couldn't get off work so it was just me and two kids, ages 10 and 15. Dad doesn't always tell me all the facts, so when I drove up to the abandoned pink hotel I started to panic. But the resort was great for our family. It was steps to the beach which was one of the best in Floriday (Navarre Beach near Pensacola is the best). We had everything we neede to cook meals in the room for breakfast and lunch and plenty of places to choose from for eating out at dinner. The housekeeping service was great. Since we were staying 6 days we expected only basic service, but received full service cleaning every day. The furnishings are not modern, but serviceable. The pool is awesome. It just went on and on. The landscaping is pleasant, although around the old hotel it could be maintained a bit more meticuloulsy. It rained a lot in the evenings while we were there, typical for this area during this part of the year, but the parking lot was flooded much of the time. The locals seem to think that because the hotel is empty the parking lot is free for them to use during the day. If we left and returned in the afternoon, we wouldn't get a parking spot close to the condo. When it started to cloud up and lightning, you would see the people run from the beach to their cars and leave with towels and beach gear in hand. My dad said the condo association was trying to figure out how to restrict access to the parking lot for hotel guests only.
