“Glad I Live In Florida..........”

I live in St Petersburg, own a business in St Pete Beach. My son and grandson came down from KC,MO ...... they wanted to do a dolphin cruise: so we picked Island Boat Adventures (member of the Corey Area Business Association). I fretted being out for a 5 hour cruise.....but was pleasantly surprised. Not one minute of boredem...although we waited an extra 20 minutes for a family to arrive (lost their way).....they extened the trip to give us our monies worth! Off we went.....friendly Captain and Crew.....boat had plenty of room...clean....smooth ride! Actually felt I was in a tropical vacation a long way away! Thanks, Betty! For a great Day-Cation! Will recommend to all!

“Best experience I had during a week in Florida”
Reviewed July 2, 2011

Where to even begin with this. We decided to book an afternoon cruise with Island Boat Adventures at the recommendation of the front desk clerk at the Magnuson Marina Cove Hotel.

I spoke with Betty over the phone who was upbeat and explained what to bring and expect on the cruise. My wife and I walked over to the dock and boarded the "Calypso Cat", ready to begin our excursion (we were staying at the Magnuson, which is where the cruise departs from). We were greeted by Betty, and introduced to our guides Hans (captain) and Bob (first-mate). All were fabulous from the get-go.

After all the reservations had boarded (about 25 or so) we departed. We took a leisurely ride out to Egmont Key, stopping several times along the way to dolphin watch. Captain Hans anchored us at the Ft. Dade ruins where we enjoyed 45 minutes or so of snorkeling. We then continued on to Egmont Key where we were free to explore the Islands lighthouse, military ruins, and beaches. It was nice that you could spend the time however you wanted. I enjoyed doing some more snorkeling and shelling along the beach. We had about 2 hours to do whatever we wanted, before boarding and heading back to the mainland. We again stopped several times to watch the dolphins peek above water. We arrived back at the dock around 5:00.

You are encouraged to bring your own cooler of snacks, alcohol, etc...however bottled water and soda are provided complimentary. Flippers, mask, snorkel, float noodles are provided as part of the cruise.

Throughout the entire trip, Hans and Bob made themselves available for questions and found time to converse with everyone on a personal level. They even let all the kids take turns at the helm of the wheel! Hans and Bob's enthuisiam for this adventure is contagious and they genuially seem to enjoy what they do. The entire cruise was very laid back and we didn't feel like we were on a regimented schedule. While Hans and Bob were great at providing educational factoids, it didn't come off cheesy or canned like other tours often do. They didn't treat us like customers, they treated us like friends.

The Calypso Cat is a beautiful boat, and seemed brand new, especially compared to the other tour boats we saw at Egmont Key. At $37 per adult for a 5 hour adventure, this was a deal unlike any other I had seen. After a week in Orlando and St Petersburg, this was the highlight of our trip by far. As previous reviews have stated, this new company will no doubt make a name and will become very in demand. Thanks for a great time Hans and Bob!

“Great Tour”
Reviewed June 26, 2011

We took this tour last week, and it was great. We all had a great time snorkeling, shelling, watching the dolphins and manatee. Hats off to the Captain (Hans) and first mate Bob. They were very knowledgeable and took the time to treat everyone like family. They didn't just shoot us out and back; they took the time to follow the dolphins and manatee; our kids were thrilled! Hans even did a dognut on the way back just to follow a group of dolphins! They're new to the business, but I'm sure once the word gets out they will be booked all the time! Forget about all the other boat tours..this is the one to book. Hans, Bob...thanks again.!

“Cleanest dive boat, crew is like family, Big Screen TV, extremely safety conscious; need I say more!”
Reviewed June 12, 2011

Outstanding trip on June 12th! Capt Hahn and First Mate Bob treated us like family. Very safety conscious too! The Capt stopped for all dolphin sightings to let everyone take pictures. Beverages were complimentary, small coolers and alcohol are OK to bring aboard. The snorkeling and island trip was outstanding. Best of all, the boat stays on site. No pressure be on time like other operators require. 5+ Stars easily!
