I went with a date to Red Mesa Cantina, because he is from the Southwest and I figured he'd enjoy it. The service was really fast, considering how busy they were. The food was great and it's a pretty bustling atmosphere, consider sitting outside in the courtyard if you'd like a cool experience.

“Wonderful!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2014 via mobile

After a Rays Game this is an excellent place to visit. My wife and and try any great Mexican we can find on vacation. This is a definite must try! Margaritas are authentic and excellent! We tried four different Tacos and the shrimp and pork were the best. Note that no sides with tacos except on kids menu. The atmosphere is very nice as we'll!

The food is fantastic. Servers are attentive. Prices are OK. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. I don't think you can go wrong here. meteredg is metered on-street.

“Wow!! Absolutely delicious Mexican food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2014

My husband and I just visited Red Mesa Cantina yesterday for lunch and, Wow! were we impressed. I ordered the Tofu Tacos and he had a Shrimp dish that came with red beans and rice. All I can say its that we found it hard to have conversation in between bites, because the food was so good that we couldn't stop eating it! Another plus is that the drinks we had were very good. He had a the Cadillac Margarita and I had a glass of wine (which was a generous pour). We aren't from St. Pete, but will be back soon and will make it a point to eat here again. Oh and the decor is certainly a plus. Very chill, relaxing vibe. Can't wait to go back!!

“Underwhelmed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2014

After reading the reviews, we were so excited when we were seated. The ambience exudes casual fun while the servers were knowledgable and professional yet friendly. The food, however, was disappointing. The salsas were tasteless while the duck quesadilla, while appealing in print, was boring. Luckily, we finished with the Mexican brownie which was very good. With so many other restaurants in the area, I would only go here again under duress.
